2nd Fingerprint : The reverse dilemma

Hi all to-be-PRs,

I am the primary applicant in our I485. We both got/did
our first fingerprint in June 2002. In the last week of Dec
2003, my wife got notice for the second FP, not me.
She, in fact, completed her second FP ahead of time
because she had a confirmed ticket to fly to India in 3 days.
Her status is updated (when checked online) saying
that they got the FP report on Jan 06 2004.

I am still waiting for my second FP notice. Is this normal?
Is there anything I can do to find out the status and/or
get my second FP notice?

When asked, my attorney's office replied : "It may come
in a few of days. It may not come at all, but we hope
it does" That was 2 weeks ago.

My online status still shows the receipt of first FP
receipt in June 2002.

I am in similar boat. in my case, I recd 2nd FP notice (primary applicant) 3 weeks back. But my wife (secondary) hasnt recd FP notice yet!!!

lawyer suggests to wait.

planning to call BCIS, what else?

I was directed to go to BCIS - San Francisco local ofiice when I
called the 1-800 number. So I woke up at 5:00am on a fine
cold friday morning, drove 40+ miles, took a BART connection,
walked almost a mile and reached the office only to find 20
people waiting outside and another 100 or so already inside
with tokens.

Well, they put me (everyone) thru almost a strip search before
pushing me into another line to get my token. By now I have
already shown my drivers license some dozen times to make sure
my identity (I, myself, started doubting my identity by that time). I
explained my situation to grandpa at the token counter. He
issued me a token and asked me to wait for my token being
called and then to repeat whatever I told him about my FP
situation. I readily agreed, repeating has become the norm of the
day.

There I waited. There were some 6 categories of tokens, A thru F
followed by a 3 digit number. I was in E, which was actually
combined with D, so I thought my wait time would be double
of that for other tokens. It turned out that there were 2 counters
for processing D/E so there should not be any extra delay. But
the actual wait for me was some 10 times compared to the
rest. This big fat lady - am not adding any color description -
seemed to be in a Hawaii beach. Even though every other
counter was business like, she was on phone or talking to
some one for 30 minutes for every token she called. So the
2 tokens (out of 7 ) ahead of me took almost 90 minutes.
Fortunately for me, she was replaced by another lady, and later
by another old man.

The next 5 took another hour and finally I had the good fortune
to meet my man. He was, like, 'do we send FP notice?', 'may be
you dont need one', 'did we not change the procedure'?
After I explained the matter for some 5 minutes, he ran inside
and spoke to his suprevisor.

He came back and gave me a couple of sheets with fax numbers
for inquiring abt different categories of applications pending with
BCIS. My file was not at SFO, but at the WSC, Laguna Niguel
I was told to send a 1-page fax desribing my problem
and wait for 21days to get a reply. If the reply does not come in
21 days, there is another set of fax numbers where I should
send a new fax (fortunately 2 -page) along with a copy
of original fax.

That is my story. Today was a holiday, I dont know if my
wait is another 20 days or 21.

I am in a similar situation, got my wife's 2nd FP notice 10 days back and mine has not come yet. Fortunately my lawyer got both notices and he forwarded to me. Clearly, both notices were sent out at the same time but mine was lost somewhere. Check with your lawyer.
 
I did check with the attorney and they have not received
anything for me. My online status also has not changed
(it still shows first FP received in June 2002) - my wife's
shows second FP received in Jan 2004..

Still waiting

My case is little bit different. My wife got the 2nd FP notice first and then after a week later I got mine. So no problem there. Both of us went early ( 3 weeks before sch date) and got the FP done. Within 3 days my online message changed. But even after 2 weeks my wife's online message hasnt changed. I am just keeping my fingers crossed.
Also, my lawyer didnt recieve any of the 2nd FP notices. They came directly to my house. I had changed my house about a year back and this is the first time that a direct mail from BCIS reached me.
So it looks like they are working but in a weird fashion for sure.

can you please fax me the inquiry forms. (or email me the scan). I plan to visit BCIS in SFO to see if my file is there just in case. Meanwhile, I can fax the inquiry and wait 21 days grhhh. Who knows a flurry of faxes on this issue might wake these morons from their slumber...

I am in the exact same situation with you.

We got my wife's 2nd FP notice 3 weeks ago, but not mine.

I called the NSC 1-800-****, and was told there is nothing about 2nd FP in my record,
then I asked to check my wife's applition folder, and was told there is still NOTHING in her record about 2nd FP,
......

Please kindly post your progress.

2nd FP

Guys,

I am sorry I did not log on here for a couple of days
and missed the request for 'fax enquiry sheet'. The
strange thing is that I did not get any email
notification (which I used to get earlier) about
the response to my post.

I do not have any information yet. I am checking
with my attorney's office every week and keep
getting the stock reply 'not yet'. It is one month
since my wife got her 2nd notice.

Sorry again for the delay.

We went to the San Jose INS supporting center last Saturday.

My wife got her 2nd PF done.
I tried to get some information there about my 2nd FP notice.
However, no luck at all:
I was told that the supporting center is NOT BCIS, they do not have access to my data, .......

Just a suggestion. If you have changed lawyers or companies, your previous lawyers will get a copy and they would fwd it to your current lawyers. There could be chance where they didn't do.
 
Nope. I have not changed employer
...neither did my employer change the
attorney...everything has been same
since 1999. Unfortunately, I wasted
a lot of time before I started the
GC process.

In fact, my attorney did receive a copy
of my wife's 2nd FP notice. Last time,
he had received both of ours, this time
only my wife's

Am still waiting.............

My only concern is that I need to take a
vacation next month and I will be gone for
2 months...So I would rather prefer FP
to be done with before resuming my
wait till eternity
