I am on F-2 visa in USA, and my father has just been issued B-2 visa, but due to minor damage to the passport, he has been told to get a new passport and submit it by post, on which he will be issued visa. Now the problem is, in the old passport there is a mistake in first name and last name, the same mistake have been filled out by me in the DS160 form also. now since my father is getting the new passport, he corrected the mistake and filled the first and last names differently than what was there in the old passport when the visa was issued. WILL THIS CAUSE ANY PROBLEM ? WILL THE CONSULATE CREATE ANY PROBLEM TO ISSUE THE VISA?

When he submits the new passport by mail, ask him to attach a letter explaining what happened with his name and his last passport. Worst case, the consulate might request another name check for him.
