Hi All,
If the interview is in Jan or Feb 2010 , is it required to complete the filing of the 2009 taxes before the interview (or) is it ok to delay until after the interview and file the taxes in March ?
Please advise.

Thanks

No. Tax filing is following IRC (Internal Revenue Code) rule and IRS regs, there is no requirement to remit taxes or file return on the expedited schedule for Naturalization applicants (of course, the case is different if you owe back to tax, then it is best settle and file before the interview).

The same is true for any state or local taxes.

I agree with Triple Citizen and sanjoseaug20. If the interview is before April 15, then yes file it (as required in any way); before 15th, it does not really matter unless you have a prior ('bad") history of not paying US Federal Taxes and/missing to file returns on time.

I do not want to carry away with technical tax questions, i assume you are not running the business ..in which case you may have to file and pay estimated quarterly taxes.

Again, the N-400 application should not impact and change your regular filing due dates, as determined by US IRS and Internal Revenue Code.
