The process of upgrading 140 to premium is very simple. The form contains only 6 or 7 lines to fill and signature by the employer.
I haev upgraded sept 28th and the next day I got a RFE.
I just replied for the RFE.
But one fortunate thing is INS processed my 485 also along with 140 premium. The message on 485 says that your preliminary processing is complete. My 485 RD is 09/23/05
I don't think any body who applied in Sept for 485, completing their preliminary processing.

hhk2005 and Nirvan,
Which service center was adjucating your I-140s? I talked to my lawyer and employer and they are extremely reluctant to file an upgrade to premium processing, citing poor record of California Service Center in premium processing. Meaning that they(CSC) probably take as much time in premium processing as they do in regular processing. My lawyer says that she has sent an inquiry and that has also the effect of getting the case information/ status and the reasons for the hold-up.
Any suggestions/ information/ advice on experience with premium processing with CS will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, KRA.

congrats

Congrats TopgunJim,
It's just great to see an approval at last !!!!

I filed in VSC. Irrespective of service center, premium processing takes not more than 2 weeks. It is foolish to say that premium processing and regular processing takes same amount of time. May be your employer has other propblems if u get ur 140 approval quickly.

Follow up

Yes, I am an Indian.

LUDs - just had only one LUD, which happened soon after the finger printing process (some where in November 2005).

Is anyone able to access that site....its throwing errors for the past couple of days.
I just checked it now and it does work. I normally don’t check it because there is no use to check when the dates are not current. But I found that there was an LUD on 10/31/2006 and I don’t know what it was for. Here are my details:

I 485 Approved

Hi

The 485 for me and my wife was approved today. This website was really helpful in getting various updates.

Do I just wait for the Green Card to come to me or take a Info pass appointment for the Passport stamping?

Following was the update on Case Status

On November 7, 2006, the card order was completed and we mailed the applicant's new card directly to him or her. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this card, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283

sept cases

From Topgunjim's, GCVaruma's LUD and prasadlabor's cases, it seems that VSC is processing cases with Sept 21-23 as RD and PD in March 2002 for EB2.

Hi SVD:

Any news on ur case? I am still stuck. no news at all!!!!!!!

my case

Nothing in my case either. But my RD is Sept 27. VSC has not reached there. No LUDs except for Nov 2005 for Finger printing.
Hang in there buddy.

you might be closer than mine. They just jumped over my case ( RD of August 1, 2005) and are now processing Sept 2005 cases....

do not understand USCIS processes at all!!!

Not necessarily. my previous message was just a wild guess. Hardly 2-3 cases from Sept have been processed.
It is definitely not a trend. There are far more cases that have not been processed. It is confusing, though. I am waiting for your case and rrdrai's case to be processed as a signal that things are moving in VSC.
