Seems logical. I am EB2/VA case with April'04 ND. I received ny 140 yesterday - but no news on FP yet.

btw, where does the FP notice come? Does it go to the lawyer or will it be mailed to my home address? Thanks for the insight on this...

Congrats for the I-140!
What I found on this board for the FP notice was that the applicant gets the original and the lawyer gets a courtesy copy (but no guarantee...).

What does it mean?

Hi group!
Recently I received an e-mail notification from USCIS stating that "On February 23, 2005, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application ... were received"

What does the "results of your fingerprint review" mean?

Does it mean thet they already checked my fingerprints or it's juct a confirmation that they just received them?

Thank you for your feedback.

AP Approved

Just got mails from USCIS that mywife's and my APs got approved.
Please update the info in the tracker. Thanks,

Wait till april/may if you I-485 is approved by that time then you don't need H1-B or EAD.

Incase if your I-485 is still pending then you can file for H1-B extension.
If you are married then its better to file for EAD too.

I hope before May end your I-485 will be approved.

Thanks, Mike. I hope too. What would be the downside of not extending H1-B while I-485 is pending with only EAD/AP?

I don't want this thing to happen anybody, incase if you loose your job or you want to change job in that case you can transfer your h1-b but not GC process..

H1-b visa is for 3 years and its transferable
EAD is for 1 year and needs to be renewed every year

upandwaiting,

Since you already have a I-140 approval and on 03/20/2005 (based on the dates from your signature) you would cross 180 days of 485 filing, if your job seems to be going on well you should be okay with your EAD. Just ensure to keep your EAD/AP active always by renewing them well in advance before they expire. Even if you lose your job...I hope it doesn't happen, you should still be able to get on to another similar job by invoking AC21.

But again, as mike was mentioning, H1B visa is always good. But if it costs you money to renew your H1, then be on EAD/AP.

Thanks, H1BneedGC and Mike. I have asked my lawyer the same question and feel that he is not answering my question in my best interest. The fee he charges me for the H extension will allow me to renew both EAD/AP for three years plus the filing fee. My GC fee already included the initial filing of EAD/AP.

I know the H1B visa is good and eliminates the hassles of renewing EAD/AP every year. I think I am going to do what mike suggests - first - file EAD/AP around May while I-485 is pending. If I-485 is still pending before H-1B expires, I will decide by then for an extension since it can be file before it expires.
