Canada is bit lenient as far as residency goes. To maintain status you have to be in Canada for 2 years out of last 5. So basically after getting Canada PR, you have 3 years three to think and decide about moving to Canada.
Usually many consulting co are doing this these days. The way they work around is, you hire the the attorney and pay him and check to INS goes thru company pay check (and they will detect under some expense from your paystub). So as far as INS is concerned everything is per law. I would suggest...
On separate note, under PERM you can't use the exp gained with employee. So remember the exp at GE won't count under PERM and this can make a diff when you are trying for eb2 vs eb3.
Job change after getting GC is not that big of an issue as it looks actually. Never heard of any single case where a person has problem from USCIS after changing jobs (i.e in terms of his GC). RE : citizenship, i can't really comment but hey its at least 5-6 years aways and that a long long...
Interesting for me it was actually 4 days before approval date. First I thought that an error but when my spouse card came in, it also has same date (4 days before the approval date).
And if happen to have a school going kids, the edu in CA sucks. With so much budget deficit here, edu is the one governor is cutting cost. I agree with all the points and have been thinking on the lines of moving out bayarea.

Apply NEW indian PP, you can apply 12 month in advance. Go to USCIS and get a new 551 stamp on New PP.

Its a law, when the minor reaches 14, he/she should go for finger printing and and new GC which has the FP in that. The same apply for selective service for boys when they reach certain age (not sure if its 18 or more).
These are few things which you need to do on your own, you won't get any...

When we went for stamping, the officer told us its taking anywhere from 4 weeks to 5 and 1/2 month for getting the card and told us to call CIS after 6 month, so I'll wait for six month before calling them.
Also moving is not a problem, unlike other approval notice, the envelope on this DOES...
Yes. Once approval and stamping is done, the concept of primary and dependant no longer apply. In my case I got my card around a week back and my spouse status still says 485 approved (one month after stamping).
The cards are no longer dependant and each will get processed as single entity.
