An approved case: late report
I'm too busy to post often. I'd like to share my case (some dates may not be accurate, but error should be within a week. I may come back to edit some dates). Hopefully it will give others some hope - which is what I felt when I came here during the waiting days...
This sounds a very interesting question - not as straightforward as TheRealCanadian replied. If category doesn't change (even she marries a citizen), she is eligible for citizenship in 5 years. You are eligible in 3 years only if you get green card through marrying citizen, isn't that right?
If I get a court order of name change between I-485 approval and the passport stamp appointment, is it possble to get the first green card with the new name - different from the one on I-485?
It seems OK to file I-90 to change name right after I receive the green card - is that just a waste?
Initially I planned to get a court order of name change for my kid, and leave the passport and greencard as they are. I want to know: if I want his passport and greencard having the new name, should I get new green card first or a new the passport first? Can I change only one of them (green...
So your original question is much simpler. Although noboday answers your question yet, you already clarified some of my confusion :)
According to my understanding of your explanation, if I want to get my kid a passport with new name, all I need to do is file N-600 first and then get the...
Having a court order of name change from US, it may be a hassle or impossible to get a new passport with new name from the original country. On the other hand, if I file I-90 for a green card with the new name, is it possible and is it OK to have passport with different (old) name?
If I wait...
I saw several cases reported on this forum that name check was cleared the day after inquiry. Does that imply that FBI is often triggered by you inquiry to clear the case?
where does immigrationwatch get the data?
That site looks cool, except that I don't like this part. I asked a couple of times on www.immigrationwatch.com, they never tried to answer my question in a meaningful way: where exactly do they get the data? They claim they are not using any scanning...
earlier fingerprint makes the approval earlier
GAROL's case shows that earlier fingerprint may move the whole thing faster. His approval date is only 2 days after the original fingerprint appointment. I wish I went early for fingerprint - maybe they won't let me.
Would RFE for Education Evaluation be for 140 or 485, or possibly both?
After 140 approval, what are the possible troubles left - say, anything that depend on USCIS's arbitrary judgment? Somebody said as long as you are not a terrorist, you would be fine. Is it really so?
I didn't receive anything about FP yet. 485 LUD is still the very first date.
Thank you all! Thanks to this forum for the precious information - and more importantly a way to release the frustration of waiting!
