Spoke to USCIS I called the USCIS 800 #, the lady told me she was not sure if the Texas Center folks would pick it up. I called the Post Office who told me it would be sent back after 5 business days if no one picked it up. In the worst case, i expect it to come back to me in a few days.

Can one change jobs after getting the I-551 stamp but before receiving the Plastic Card? Will that cause any problems in getting the \'Plastic Card\'?

No Title The I-551 stamp is like a temporary Green Card. So, it will not be possible to get that stamped again. If it is a visa, you can get it stamped outside the US.

I recently got a new passport (have the expired one also). My I-551 stamp valid till 2002 Jan is on the old passport. Can this cause any problems? Thanks.

No Title The reference to the plastic card is after you get your passport stamped for I-551 upon receipt of the I-485.
