I got my 8th year externsion from DOS but on I797, they've given me 3 years of extension instead of one year. Is it going to be a problem, if I go for VISA stamping in US Consulate outside US. Am I supposed to let DOS know about the mistake, which they made or they'll give me one year stamp at...

Once again, DOS didn't ask us to submit anything or didn't rejected our validation becuase we were missing something. They just responded that "your application is not clearly approvable this time". So no, we can't ask our employer to submit something, which wasn't asked for.

221(g) Once again, if you get 221(g) saying not clearly approvable that DOES NOT mean that you got rejection. That simply means, you need to appear for the interview with consular officer. Remember you already have I797 so no need to say "YES" under "whether you ever got refused".

I've the same situation. Planning to goto Calgary for H1-B re-validation i.e. 8th year extension and Canadian PR stamping. Not sure, whether there would be any problem!

You have to say "NO" as you were never refused the VISA. Its only the stamping, which they didn't do.
