hi all

please help in this regard.. I am planing to go chennai consulate for stamping on august.. please kindly give me your opinions and advices...

I got 221 g rejection when I sent my Passport to St Louis for revalidation. The reason was "Not clearly approvable at this time. Please visit a consulate for the visa."
and my previous expired H1-B visa is stamped "CANCELLED without prejudice"

In the DS156 form what should answer for the
question 31
Have You Ever Been Refused a U.S. Visa?
question 35
Has Your U.S. Visa Ever Been Cancelled or Revoked?

Thanks in advance

"not clearly approvable this time" means your visa was not approved, and therefore it was refused. State so in your DS156 form. Also your visa stamp was cancelled, therefore state so in your application.

221(g)

Once again, if you get 221(g) saying not clearly approvable that DOES NOT mean that you got rejection. That simply means, you need to appear for the interview with consular officer. Remember you already have I797 so no need to say "YES" under "whether you ever got refused".

I797 is not a "visa"

221(g) indeed means that your visa was refused (otherwise you would've gotten the visa stamp).

Having a valid 797 does NOT necessarily mean that your visa was NOT refused. They are distinct documents.

Please check with an attorney -- I would think that you should answer "YES" to that "Visa refused?" question

please help Ds156 Q35

Hi all,
I am going to toronto on monday for visa stamping. I got 221g from washington in june stating that, i need an interview. My question is what do i have to write for questions 35.

35-- Has your visa ever been cancelled or revoked?

I got a cancelled without prejudice stamp on my visa when i got 221g, what should i write yes or no?

same ppl told me writing yes will not grant me a visa, as my visa was revoked.

What if i have some errors on my DS-157 and they ask me to fill it again or do corrections, will i be able to do it inside the consulate or i have to go outside to do that?

please help i have only one day and i have already filled up the form. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance
