hello,
I would like to find out how long after AOS approval you received the card from VSC.
I was approved beginning of nov. 03 and still waiting; at the end of nov. I received a welcome letter telling me I would be receiving my card within 3 weeks...
anybody???
thank you all
I have a question; On nov. 5 I was approved for AOS, on nov. 30 I received a welcome letter from the dep of homeland security telling we I will be receiving my plastic card within 3 weeks... of course I haven't received anything yet..
anybody with similar experience? just to have an idea on how...
I did bring my fax of approval letter to the office but they told me it wasn't good enough and didn't want to stamp my passport.
After several minutes of "arguing" they sent me to the officer who interviewed me back in dec 2002; she was very nice and stamped my passport on nov 4 2003.
Last...
I had my interview on dec. 4 2002 and I got approved in october 2003 ( only after contacting a congressman several times..)
Last week I received a letter from the INS saying" welcome to the USA" and in the letter they said I will be receiving my plastic card within 3 weeks.
not bad...
Tata,
I don't have a copy of that letter; the senator's office asked me to describe briefly my "immigration history".
Before I faxed the letter I talked to them on the phone.
My adjustment of status was filed as spouse of american citizen; I had to bring AP, EADs, passport (oviously), APPROVAL LETTER (ORIGINAL ) and NO pics.
I got there only 15 min. before office opening but still made it pretty quick, besides inconvenience due to my approval letter being a fax.
They told me it was for securituy clearence..but 10 monthns is still a long time.
I contacted Emily Evans at Senator's Allen Office
(703) 435-0039 she's super!
hopes it helps
FInally i GOT APPROVED! the letter the senator's office faxed me was an exact copy of the approval letter with stamp and all..
I found out my case was not updated so to them I was not approved.
I had to go and talk to the officer who approved my case and have her stamp my pp ( after "arguing"...

yes. I had my interview on dec 4 2002 and the officer just asked for my passport and took I-94 ( I had 2 ) and never gave them back.
This was at arlington office.
I hope they won't ask for it when I go to get my passport stamped...
Yes I have another question...:)
when I did my interview the officer took my original I-94. I have a copy of it.
I saw lots of people in the forum saying that they had to give the I-94 to get their passport stamped. Is it true?
my AOS is based on marriage to a us citizen.
thank you all!!!;)
I think I was not clear, GC is essential for me like for everybody else here but it's just not always that easy to find time to do that; I feel that if I could save money or time to anybody in the forum I would be more than happy to do it..I'm just asking for advice that's all..
everybody's time is precious and if you work and have small children to take care of time is even more precious!
I was just trying to find out if anybody knew the answer to my questions; when I check th board I don't judge people for the questions they ask, I simply give them an answer if I...
