    SSN after POE

Do I need to apply for my wife's SSN separately or it is sent without me applying for it? Reason I am asking this is because there was a section on the DS230 that asked whether I wanted her SSN to be mailed. Any experiences on this?

Transit Visa - India to US

Guys: I reached the US yesterday (3rd Oct) evening. POE: Newark. No problems at all at POE. I travelled by Alitalia and did NOT need a transit visa. I personally dnt think you need a transit visa if you have the Immigration visa packet with you. Thanks to all for replying anyway :-)

    PCC from India

sm_delhi: The letter from the consulate indicating that you require PCC from local police will be included in Packet 4 only. You will have to wait till you get packet 4 (either through post or you collecting it personally when it is ready at the consulate). You needn't worry too much abt...

    Wife's name on IV

We got our Immigration visa on June 2nd. We noticed that on the visa paper for my wife, the consulate has put both names - her maiden (full name) and below that her name post marriage. Her passport bears her maiden name and therefore throughout the GC process we used her maiden name. We...

    PCC from India

vm1214: The letter is what is required by the US consulate. However, I am pretty sure they would have put a stamp saying something like '..endorsement..PCC issued...' on one of the pages of the passport. She doesn't have to bothered about that stamp though. DBM: To find out who issues...

    PCC - Confused !!!

sm_delhi: You should get the PCC for the place you have been staying in Delhi. I suppose the place that you have been staying hasn't changed for the past 12 years. No need to get the PCC from Kerala.

    PCC from India

DBM, PCC is issued for locations where you have stayed for more than 6 months (i think). Considering that, I would say ideally you should have the PCC from the Indian consulate in the US. Given that you may not be able to do that now (unless you travel back and get it??), I would say the...

Likely CP Candidates for October 2003 @Mumbai Consulate - To Do List

The notarized employment letter is needed only at the time of the interview. No, the Attorney does NOT have to mail you a Notarized copy of the AC140 application. But it is a good practice to have a copy of the application with onself.

Got the visa yesterday :) (a month after the interview date) Submitted the PCC from police in the morning. I was given a blue chit with "IV" and my case # written and asked to return at 12:15. We thought we would get the visa then. They just took the blue chit from me at 12:15 and then...

Affidavits with School/College LC will work. Colleges do provide a duplicate but it usually takes around 10-15 days, so plan around that.
