Yes, I asked for senators help and my lawyer also had some direct correspondance with the INS. I don't know whether their help made this happen or was it my luck. God knows the truth...
By the grace of God, my and my loved ones prayers, the very long wait is finally over and received my approval today. I had lost all my interest in this process but with this approval, I am now very relaxed and can make a trip to see parents in a week or two.

My lawyer is asking for $500 additional for sending inquiries and requests to NSC (In their terminology they called it intervention) on my pending 485 application. Is this normally what lawyer charge for these kinds of services?

I don't know about e-file but I used the regular way to file my 3rd EAD and I got the approval in less than 2 months.
I believe regular way is better than e-file in many ways.;)
It takes 30-60 days to get your EAD approved and you definitely need a card to continue your employment.
My second advice is do not pay extra to your lawyer for the filing of this card. This is something very easy you can do all by yourself.
I have an Oct 01 ND and asked IIO for an inquiry and even she tried to do that but she said her computer failed to do that. As of last week, their computers were only accepting inquiries for receipts with ND after Aug. 24th, 2001.:mad:
2nd fingerprinting usually processed by FBI on the same day. I checked mine with FBI and they confirmed they processed on the same day I had my fingerprinting done.
Mine was done in late July. You see, I told you NSC knows your actual RD.
You can try to go there for FP before the scheduled day and I saw sometime people succeed in doing so.
