I got it less than 10 days here in Florida. SS cards are being created and sent from their Baltimore office, so it doesn't make a big difference where you apply. May be few days here and there but you'll get it within few (2-3) weeks.

For the day of appointment I think they will definitely let you in at 7:00AM. My PP stamping appointment was at 8:30AM so I'm not sure for that. But at the time of FP they allowed me go inside in the morning, though I had an appointment in the afternoon. So, be hopefull. Good Luck. :)

Yes I did see them change a day before and after of both "card ordered" and "card mailed" message change. But I learn looking at other's posting in this forum that it's not a consistant behavior. For my daugther's case I'm still to see any message change or recieve plastic card. Good Luck. :)
