I may probably sound stupid but isn't I-129 & I-797 the same paper. I'm looking at my approval notice and it has I-129 written on the top with "PETITION FOR A NON IMMIGRANT WORKER" and little down it says "Form I797A"

I looked up on Visa-Services website, and I-129 is not listed as requirement for H-1B ... I guess its needed only for L1 visa. 'iminus' can you confirm?

My brother recently had 6 year of H-1B completed so he left the country for good. However his I-94 was never taken before he left US ... I guess both forgot about it. Would this cause problems for him to re-enter in future? Also how can he correct this situation. Thanks in advance.

DS-157 is very clear to me now. However correct me if I'm wrong, but in DS-156 for #2 Place of Issuance, the City / Country / State-Province would be San Franciso / USA / CA and for # 3 Issuing Country would be India. A yes/no answer would suffice. Thanks again.
