Approximate appointment date at Mumbai Consulate

Guys,

A very good friend of mine is planning to go to India - but he will have to get his H1B visa stamped at Mumbai in order for him to return to the USA. If he takes an appointment today, what is the approximate earliest date he will get the appointment (at Mumbai Consulate)? If any of you have done that recently, what dates did you get?

The earliest appointment available for Bombay is end January. At present wait time is appr 70 days.

You can go to www.visa-services.com to find out about available dates.
Don't go with what it says on the website. One of our friends went to the local visa service office and it is just 15 days wait period.
