Submitted I-129F for K-1 visa in October last year and my status still shows Initial Review after almost 6 months. Meanwhile the processing time for I-129F at the California center increased from 5 to 7.5 months. I called USCIS twice. A month ago they said the California center was processing...
Do I get a Notice of Action letter after sending the I-129F petition?
I mailed the petition papers two weeks ago and haven’t received anything yet. I also checked with my bank and my check hasn’t been cashed.
Thanks,

The person I intend to marry will come to US next week on a tourist visa and I will start the I-129F application for her K-1 visa right away. She will wait here in US until her application is approved and sent to the American Consulate in her country and then fly back to have the interview for...
I started the I-129F application and all the additional papers that go with it.
I have few questions about the G-325A Form that my fiancée is going to fill in.
It starts directly with Name, date and place of birth, parents names, etc., then suddenly the next paragraphs are labeled...
Next spring I will marry a woman who will come to US on a K-1 (fiancee) visa. She has an unmarried 22 year old daughter who can’t get a visa at the same time with her mother.
Few questions please:
1. When is the best time for the daughter to apply for a B-2 visa in order to visit us? If she...
You mean she should disclose about the future K-1 application? Wouldn’t this appear like immigration intent and trigger a denial of her entry based on a tourist visa?
Thanks,

I will summarize my situation here before asking a new question.
1. I applied for citizenship and I’m scheduled for interview end of August.
2. My fiancée will come in US based on her tourist visa; she has done it before this spring.
3. Right after her arrival (assuming I get the...
I’m afraid that if she comes after I file for her K-1 visa, they may deny her entry on a tourist visa. To avoid this situation, should she rather come before I file?
Thanks,
Crazy57
Well, she would enter as a tourist and get the permit few days later and she only needs to do it once as the second time she would have her K1.
Meanwhile I checked and our DMV would issue temporary permits. Waiting for details from DMV.
Thanks,

BigJoe5, thanks, but it says “bring your valid US driver’s license, etc.” so it seems to only work for Americans travelling abroad.
Now foreigners come here and rent a car and drive with their existing permit. How long can you do that?
I’m a few months away from getting my citizenship and intend to file an I-129 to get the K1 visa for my fiancée after that. We are looking at 8 months or more before we can be together here in US. She has a visitor visa and has visited me already and we think she might come again and stay here...
My girl friend has visitor visa and visited me here in US once. I asked USCIS if we could marry while she was here in US and got the advice not to do it because visitor visa assumes no immigration intent and if we get married this will not look good for her and her next visa (forgot what type)...
I'm with Portland, OR and they show 5 months, but I saw few lucky Portlanders who had the FP scheduled within a month from sending the N-400, while I'm scheduled for FP a bit over 2 months after.
rjackal, I’m OK with 4-5 months, but based on how my start looks when compared to others, I’m afraid I’m on a slow track and I would do whatever I can to speed it up.
No luck with walk-in at FP today
The officer told me I need a serious reason to do a walk-in and I haven't had one. Saying I simply wanted to speed up the proces didn't help. This was right at the opening in the morning and there were other 8-10 people in line. Maybe that matters too.
Now the...
