If you have completed 5 yrs residency requirement and did your interview and now waiting FBI clearance and oath, do u still need to visit US every 6 months to update your green card. This question is about a friend who moved oversease 6 yrs after getting his GC
Thanks in advance!
Went to Toronto and came back in fine. Neither officers cared to even look at my GC. While going to toronto, the following is how the conversation went:
Officer: Where you going?
Me: I am going to Toronto on a business trip
Officer: Have a good trip
Coming back...
Officer: Where u...
Anyone else has answer to the first question? Time is really running thin. I need to leave early tomorrow. I posted the same question few weeks ago and got vague answers.
Let me through another question in there.
Is there a different lane for PRs at border crossings while coming back into the U.S? Is it same as the one for U.S Citizens?
I will be driving to Toronto, Canada for a couple of days this week for a job assignment. I am a permanent U.S resident.
1- Since it’s a business trip and not a leisure one, do I need to obtain any special permit to go there just for 2 days?
2- What do I need to carry with me other than...
Thats where you probably misunderstood me. I wasn't asking from the U.S standpoint. I was asking the question from the Canadian standpoint. Do I need anything special to go to Canada for job related work or my GC will do?
I may need visa to visit some other country. So its not really irrelevant.
Don't some countries require you to get temporary work/business visas? Wouldn't the purpose of the visit would also be relevent in that case. Its irrelevent here because the country is question is Canada which allows...
I am surprised nobody knows about this.

Our company acquired a small company in Toronto. I will be going to Toronto quite often. Is this a problem going to Toronto on green card for job/business purpose?
I arrived at JFK couple days ago from an overseas trip with my elderly parents on wheel chairs. They are on visit visas. At the immigration counter, the officer asked usual stuff about my parents like how long they are going to stay here, etc. They were both granted 6 months entry. She scanned...

I know you don't like being addressed directly like this in the subject matter but I wanted to know your thoughts on this urgently.
My brother is an MD and works in a hospital in Texas. He is still waiting for his I485 approval.
He recently traveled to a country that requires...
I am planning an overseas trip in December.
My son's U.S passport expires in November. I was looking at the website http://travel.state.gov/get_forms.html for renewing his passport.
According to the information posted, it seems that you cannot really renew a passport unless you are 16 or...

Technically speaking, you have already lost your residency status in Canada. I suggest that you visit a nearby canadian embassy or notify them in writing about your intent prior to crossing the boarder. I would also call them to find out what needs to be done.
When I got my GC in US, I also...
