Try again in a day or so. They don't give out appointments for more than 2 weeks in advance.

If you get to the 3rd floor early and are lucky enough to get the ticket. They will keep your infopass appoitnment and give another sheet of paper with the ticket stapled to it. You will need to fill in your personal info on the sheet (e.g. name, address, A# etc) On 15th floor, give that...

    Newark, NJ - N-400 Timeline

I think the earliest time for infopass appointment is 7:30AM. If you want to speak to someone on 15th floor, then make sure that you get appt. for earliest time possible (before 8AM). The lady at 3rd floor told me that they get 15 tickets a day for Mon-Thu and 10 tickets for Friday for...

egad, I got my oath letter over the weekend as well. During the infopass, they said my case was approved sometime in July already. So it took approx. a month or so since then. Oath is scheduled for Sept. 8th and am asked to report at 8AM. I thought they have 2 oath ceremonies 1:30PM...

Yes, it is easy to park near Newark office. There is a parking lot right behind the building which charges $12/day. it is NOT the same address as for FP, and you'll get an opportunity to update any information during your interview. The officer reviews the application and asks if anything has...

Congratulations Sli. I have tried calling that number a few times too and got the voicemail. I have left msg everytime. I guess, I will have to keep trying and see how long does it take for me to get to speak to someone.

    Never worked for sponsered employer

As long as you were working for the sponsoring employer during your green card processing and once you got the green card, your employer laid you off or something and you have a letter from the employer proving that, then I don't see any problems. Your msg does not clearly give all details...

    Newark, NJ - N-400 Timeline

No luck yet and no plans either, but looks like now I have to make it a high priority. Legal action is the last option, but I am still hoping that I won't have to go that route. Will give it another month or so then decide.

I'd suggest to take an infopass and go there and ask to speak to an officer. At least they should be able to tell you if your case has been approved or not. You can also ask them if your background check is pending or not.

    Help! - Duplicate A file

I tried contacting Congressman Rush Holt's office (He is the congressman for the the district my township falls in) but the staff who works on immigration issue was out of office. I also contacted Senator Menendez's office but haven't heard anything yet. And, I am not getting enough time...

Dual A file issue because of F1 EAD's?

I am sure the A# on your EAD and green card are different, which would mean that you did have two "A" files. However, someone in INS decided to do their job right and sent both A files to DO before interview. At least, it's good to hear that not everyone who has multiple A files has to suffer...

Dual A file issue because of F1 EAD's?

Yes. This is also a very common scenario. See my comments on other thread : http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=215706

    Help! - Duplicate A file

Yes. This is also one of the common scenarios where you can end up with multiple A files. My case also falls into this same scenario. The EAD I got during my F-1 days has different A# than the green card. I went the CP route and did not even file I-485.

    Help! - Duplicate A file

My experience has been not so good with these guys yet. I have called both senators offices and did not get much of help. Also called congressman's office for my distric but the person who handles immigration matters is out for past couple of weeks or so.

    Help! - Duplicate A file

4 years you are referring to is more related to cases where people are waiting for name check to be completed. Typical timeframe for dual "A" file issue is 2-4 months (at least that's what I have seen from others experiences). I am stuck with dual "A" file too and it has been more than 3.5...

Can I take my kids with me at Newark Interview and oath?

The playroom is a small room all the way to the left next to Door #1. it's not really a playroom, but they have some kids chairs, a small table and stuffed toys etc. I noticed it as I was sitting next to it, if you are sitting in the middle section or the section on the right, then it is hard to...

Can I take my kids with me at Newark Interview and oath?

Yes, you can. I have seen few people bring their kids and they also have a little play room, but it may be a long day for you and kids can get really cranky just sitting there and doing nothing. I'd recommend if you can leave them with a babysitter or some friends, that'd be better.

I am in middlesex county too. I tried to contact senator's offices but haven't had much luck yet. They are very slow and haven't responded back to my request yet, so I don't have much hopes from them. Good to hear that they worked quite promptly on your case and got it resolved.
