Thank you so much Al!
Life is indeed grand. :) Funny how I just forgot about it and was resigned to the fact I wouldn't get to go home for the holidays. And then voila! This morning I checked our mail, and there it was. :)
This forum has been such a big help. Thanks so much to everyone! :)
Update!!!
I got a letter in the mail yesterday from the USCIS! It was the letter that our IO made me and hubby sign regarding the removal of conditions! :) It reads that the green card was granted on 12/10/2010 and I should file form I-751 between 9/10/2012 and 12/09/2012...
I'm in the same boat as y'all. My husband and I went for an interview on Monday 11/29/10. The IO was very friendly and told us his supervisor has "signed off" on it and to expect the gc in 3 weeks. He made us sign a paper saying he has explained the process for removal of conditions. He also...
You are right Al. I have been obsessing about this for the past two days. Time to stop.
I will cancel my infopass and promise to not check my email (or this forum) more than 2x a day.
Time to go Christmas shopping! :)
Has there been any cases where the Online Status doesn't change at all? Like some sort of system glitch? Mine has not changed, not even a soft touch! It still says Oct 5, 2010 for my I-485.
I have made an infopass appointment for Dec 9, but feel silly going there and asking for a stamp on...
faddu630, no. I have never claimed to be a US citizen, or used my hubby's SSN for work.
Maybe it will take a few more days. I remember asking "If I want to change my green card name to my married name, what happens then?" And he said "It will take me at least a month to approve it, since I...
I hate how crazy this is driving me. :) I set up an Infopass appointment for December 9, just in case I do not get any Notice of Approval text message/email. Maybe then I can ask if I can get a stamp? Has anyone had this situation before?
I remeber the IO saying "HOw would you like your...
Thank you Jackolantern.
I figured I would do that.
Question, is the approval notice the same as the welcome letter? Does USCIS send out an email/text alert saying they have dispatched a welcome letter/notice of approval? Also, how long does this usually take fro interview date?
Thanks...
Hi Faddu630, yes I signed up for email notification. The IO said "I will approve it today or tomorrow, depending on when the system comes back up."
Fingers crossed. I'm getting impatient!
He did say however, that he would rather I wait till I get the physical green card in the mail. He said that even though they approve the green card, if I don't have it physically with me, it is up to the immigration officer at the airport to allow or deny entry. He said it takes only 3 weeks...
Hi Triplecitizen,
I was out of status before I applied for the green card. He explained that was the only hurdle in our application, so he had to make sure his supervisor was okay with it. When he came back, he said "you are good. my supervisor signed off on it." He then proceeded to tell...
Thanks for the input BigJoe and Al.
I just am so impatient and want to reserve those tickets now, but don't want to do it till the card is in production. Or at least till I get the welcome letter
namecheckvictim, you are absolutely right about the financial situation sending mixed messages. Maybe I should have said that my father (who is the legal guardian of my son, paying for all his expenses) paid for the big wedding, and we are also travelling on his Delta Miles this Christmas! :)...
Hello everyone! I've been an avid reader of the different threads here, and usually don't post much.
My USC husband and I went for an interview this morning at 9:15am. We arrived at 9am, and went through the metal detector etc. We were barely seated at 9:05am, when we were called 5...
My husband and I are scheduled for interview on November 29! I am nervous and excited at the same time! :)
I have my AP, but am scared to travel out of the country since I overstayed more than 120 days.
Now if after the interview my passport gets stamped and I get approved verbally...
Hi Everyone,
I have been poring and reading a lot of these threads since this morning. Wow, I learned so much that I didn't know yesterday!
I am a Filipina citizen married to a US Citizen (or USC as you guys here call it).
I entered the country in 2007 on a Q visa.
Switched to an F1...
