    help with i485

I don't think you can adjust your status. Be very careful before you file with the USCIS. As far as I know, people who came to the USA on a visa waiver program and overstayed are not eligible for AOS, only people with visas are. And I read many posts on this forum where visa waiver applicants...

    Filing N-400

Thanks Baikal. The reason for filing "married separately" is because my wife has some student loans that we were not been to pay and the agencies want to garnish my wife's wages and the amount they can take out of her paycheck dePends on her 2010 tax return. So we really needed to file out taxes...

    Filing N-400

Hi guys, im preparing my N400 package based on a marriage to a US citizen after 3 years permanent residency and have a couple questions to ask. 1. Do I still need to include utility bills and joint credit cards and bank statements with my N400? I'm planning to submit just our tax transcripts...

Prove of US citizenship after naturalization?

To Baikal3: I don't know. I heard that Arizona and few other states do require proof of citizenship when dealing with law enforcement. I live in MI, but I do travel on business around the US, so I could be potentially asked to prove my citizenship.

Prove of US citizenship after naturalization?

I see. Well hope it will work. The reason why I asked is that I read somewhere that a US born citizens speaking with no accent were arrested in AZ for not being able to prove their citizenship because they had "just DL and their SS card".

Prove of US citizenship after naturalization?

Yeah, but are you suppose to carry that certificate on you at all times, so that if you get checked, you can prove your citizenship?

Prove of US citizenship after naturalization?

Hi guys, I will be filing soon my N400 and just wondering: How does one prove US citizenship once he is Naturalized? Assuming that people who are not on their way out of the US would not normally carry their US passport or the Naturalization certificate. If they get stopped by a law enforcement...

Case status can not be found on line

The notice (797) that they received your petition to remove condition has a wrong number. I had the same problem. Once you receive a letter from uscis inviting you for your fingerprints appointment, it will have a different number and that will be actualy the number you want to use to check on...

want to get a green card for my unmarried and disabled sister !!

Actually your sisters condition will slow down the process. Not speed it up. This is not a socialist or christian society. Charity is not what you will find dealing with the US govt. The govt. is doing all they can to prevent people that will become a burden on society from coming to the US...

I don't want to separate from my mom, can I adjust my status without leaving her?

Well, if you fall in love with a girl, and she marries you, she could sponsor you and you would get your green card. Am I right?

    Re-entry Permit which documents?

Why do you bother with I131? She has a green card right? So she can come and go as she pleases as long as she doesn't stay longer than 6 months outside of the USA. Right?

    Self-petitioning battered or abused spouses

Would be there any chance to win this case even if there was battery or abuse? This is not I751. He hasn't even got the first green card.

First Interview wife was on drugs.

Does a "battered spouse" not apply to men just like to women? They married for love and she screw him over, right?

Please Help - to bring my 70 years old mum to stay with me in California

I think the process is the same like for anyone else. File i130, I485 and all the other forms along with it. Get a lawyer. But I don't think you thought it through. What's going to happen after she arrives in the USA? What if she needs medical treatment or spend some time in the hospital? The...

Honeymoon in US Virgin Islands while waiting for Green Card?

I have never been to VI or Puerto Rico. I have been to Hawaii and I know it's safe to go without green card. My understanding about VI and PR is that Puerto Rico is a property of the USA so there is no immigration check point. Virgin Islands are different. They are shared with Great Britain and...

Honeymoon in US Virgin Islands while waiting for Green Card?

Because, when they will be coming back to the US, in best scenario they will be lying to the CBP officer about her "non immigrant" intend. She should not be reentering the US on tourist visa when she is married to the USC and intending to emigrate. It can backfire on them at the interview. In...

Honeymoon in US Virgin Islands while waiting for Green Card?

In my opinion VI Is a No, No for her until she gets her Green card. If you want to keep your wife in the US with you while waiting for her Green card, stick to the 50 states of the US and it's territories where you avoid immigration checkpoint. VI is not one of them. Hawaii is definitely safe, I...

Need advice for my fiancee please

In my opinion, she was very, very, very lucky to get admitted to the states so many times in such a short time for a such a long periods. The problem is that if you marry her right the way, she will have to convince the interviewing officer that at the time she entered the US she had no...
