driver's license expiration date with green card

Nelsona, good catch! I missed that page since I only looked at the one specifically aimed at non US citizens. Dedo, my understanding is that MD has changed its regulations on June 1 this year and is now verifying legal presence and setting the expiration date the same as your immigration...

driver's license expiration date with green card

Guys, thanks for your responses. It looks like driving license laws are in constant flux -- things have changed quite recently in MD, as far as I understand. Dedo, when did you last get your license -- before or after June 1, 2009? Henryetta, I'm sorry about all that hassle -- sounds really...

driver's license expiration date with green card

I'm a conditional permanent resident and will be moving to the DC area in a few weeks. My conditional GC expires in about a year. Looking at DMV sites for DC, VA and MD, it seems that DC and VA will issue you a driver's license with an expiration date the same as your immigration document (in my...

    Conditional permanent residence and I-9

I got my permanent residence through marriage a few months ago. I'm planning to start a new job soon, and I need to fill out an I-9. As a conditional resident, in section 1 of the I-9, do I check the box "Lawful permanent resident" or the one that says "Alien authorized to work until ..."? If I...

    Does anybody know

It seems to be better to wait for an RFE. That way you can include the RFE in your package, and it will actually be connected with your file once it reaches USCIS. If you send it now it is unlikely it will reach your file.

Failed fingerprint appointment because of sweaty hands! Help, please

I agonized over this too as my first fingerprint set was unreadable ... I believe they will send you a request to get the police clearance if you fail for the second time. In my case I guess my second set of prints was OK. I have dry hands, and used the Corn Husker's lotion in between the...

Typo on GC: "Country of birth: Unknown"

Thanks, Triple Citizen :). This is precisely why I'm not sure it's worth sending it back -- I don't think they have a country code for Serbia yet. Interestingly, the EAD card I got while I was waiting for the green card said "Serbia and Montenegro", which is one of the former names. During the...

Typo on GC: "Country of birth: Unknown"

Thanks for your responses. My country of birth is Serbia, which has undergone two name changes in the last 5 years, so it is my suspicion that it is the reason this has happened. I got the GC through marriage to a US citizen, so there is no quota in this case. I also have the I-551 stamp in...

Typo on GC: "Country of birth: Unknown"

Hi guys, I finally received my conditional green card in the mail. I checked it over, and all the info is correct, except for one thing -- the country of birth is listed "Unknown"! Has this happened to anybody before, and did you have trouble using the card for travel/work? I'd just as...

    Any January filers out there?!?!

Thanks for the tips, Nothere! I haven't tried Infopass -- I figured Hartford was slow, so I just needed to wait. The fact that Meek got the IL gives me confidence that mine will get here soon!
