This is never ending struggle. We had my mom's interview today but the IC officer said she can't approve it because there is no official document which list my mother by name. My BC does not have my mothers name, her BC does not have her name. We were told that affidavit are not enough to...
1. Yes, you can take a camera and/or cell phone with camera. You are not allowed to take photos in the waiting area but will be allowed to use it in the Oath area.
2. You can take a laptop kind bag with you but I don't you are allowed to use laptop.
Hi everyone,
My mom was schedule for interview this Thursday but had a minor accident when she was getting ready and we could not attend the interview. Next day we went to the Baltimore DO and applied for reschedule. Does anyone has experience with what happens if you miss your interview? I...
Someone else suggested that I should speak with the Consul rather then the embassy workers. I was advised to wait until after the interview. The Consul usually don't take kindly to Embassy workers (Visa/passport) abusing their powers.
Thanks everyone for great advice.
The embassy would have accepted the EAD card. How is EAD card makes you any different then a b1/b2. You are still on same status because EAD holder is also waiting for GC.
i don't know. i assume if you goto india, you get your passport renewed there. i also assume INS accepts expired passports. i do know someone higher up at the embassy so let's see what happens at the interview.

She does have a I-485 but we did not apply for EAD because she will not be able to work. Before we applied for I-485, I went to Embassy to try to renew her passport and I was told that they don't renew visitor's passport. The website does not provide or maybe I missed it, if I can bring the...
This is not an option for her. Her I94 has already expired. She could not travel in India and we thought that we will be able to renew it when she comes here.
Thanks.
Hi,
I posted this in the Passport forum but got no replies. My dilemma is this, my mother's passport is expiring on July 31th and her interview is on July 30th. In legal sense she has a valid passport when she goes to her interview. I was told that the Indian Embassy won't renew passports...
What kind of questions do they ask at the interview? Does anyone know if they review all your documents again? I am wondering because my Citizenship interview was a breeze. Interview for my mom is at 8am, how long does the interview usually take?
