    Yes..there could be a problem Once I-485 is approved, AP is invalid. You could have a problem. There is a big discussion about this in the main I-485 issues forum. Check it out.

    Not to worry The First month of the year for the INS is October. The year runs from Oct to Sept. So, a person who applies in Sep 01 gets SRC-01, but a person who applies in Oct gets SRC-02. I had applied in Dec 2000 and mine was SRC-01. Hope this helps.

    Do we need the Original 485 Receipt to travel ??

    I-485 receipt not needed for travel. I recently travelled using AP. No one asked me for the I-485 receipt (or anything else) except for the original AP (of course). I recommend you having a copy of the I-485 receipt.

    both Your attorney will receive the official copy. You will receive a courtesy copy. Many say that the courtesy copy is accepted by the INS for passport stamping.
