My US husband of 11 years has died in 2005. Although I met all the criteria for marriage based US citizenship application, the fact that I am currently not married to him was enough for the officer to deny it to me with no question, no flexibility and no arguments. I am 1 month short of 5 year...
Congressman office told my interview date
Thanks to Bob Etheridge's office. I contacted them 3 days ago about not having heard about my interview date. They called me today and told me that my interview was scheduled for March 27th. They said USCIS has not mailed the interview letter yet but...
What is the point?
What is the point of having the online status information and phone answering service if it confuses you even more? The phone message says I need to submit more evidence whereas the online information has not changed since I applied in Sept. 06 and the immigration officer...
K1 is faster
I asked my lawyer the same question because I am on the same boat as you are. She said K-1 is faster-from 2 to 6 months. An immigration officer I talked to also stated this same thing.

Thank you for taking time to respond. I think you are right in every way. I will let you all know what happens when I go my interview. I feel like I am thinking too much about this. I am a person of faith. I will leave it in the hands of God and honor His decision. Your response was so...
I had earlier posted a message about my N400 application asking if anyone knows for sure what happens when your US spouse dies even though you were married to them for 3 years. By the time my husband died I had had my green card for 3 years and 5 months. I applied for citizenship a couple of...
Thanks for your reply. With my N400 application, I also sent my husband's death certificate. When I checked the 3 year category, I put a note next to it and stated that "my husband passed away on Sept. 25, 05". There is no way they would miss all this information.
Thanks.
Hello everyone, my question is regarding my N400 application. I got my greencard in May 2002 and my husband passed away September 2005. I applied for citizenship in September, 2006 by checking the category of "3 years and has been living with the sponsor". I was called for fingerprints in...
