Roommate detained - is there a concern for the other person?

Thanks for your response. You are right - there is definitely a contradiction! Certainly being here illegally is not law-abiding (I guess I meant she had no criminal record)...

Roommate detained - is there a concern for the other person?

Here is a question. A roommate, who is here illegally, has been detained due to criminal activity. The other roommate, who is also here illegally, has been working, been law abiding, has been paying taxes, but fears that the investigators looking at the other roommate's case will be questioning...

    Documents needed for Oath Ceremony?

Just be sure to bring your green card and any other documents you have ever received from USCIS. This includes any EADs. If you don't know what a Re-entry permit or a Refugee Travel Document is, then you don't have one and you don't need to worry about bringing them. The address in the form is...

    Newark, NJ - N-400 Timeline

Make an INFOPass and see if they will let you do the oath that day. Your files are probably sitting somewhere in the Rodino Building in Newark and so they just have to pull them.

    Name Change in N-400

Yes, you can leave it blank in the N-400 and then if you decide that you want to change your name, simply notify the IO during the interview.

Traffic tickets and naturalization (threads merged)

If you decide to disclose it, then attach an explanation note. If you decide not to disclose it, then you have nothing to worry about. At my interview, I was asked about the traffic tickets and was asked to provide proof that I paid them.

Asylum Nunc Pro Tunc granted !!!

You don't need to do anything. If the asylum office did not know what to do, then this is the incompetence of the US government.

Asylee N-400 Interview Experiences and 2009 Tracker

Folks: I also had a very positive naturalization experience. I did not go to COP but the officer did not ask me even one thing about my asylum status or how I acquired it. It was a straightforward naturalization interview with basic civics and English test and I took the oath the same day...

How do I correct a mistyping while filling out notice of naturalization oath ceremony

Just go to the oath ceremony site and explain what happened. They might be able to print a new oath letter for you right there on the spot.

2nd Interview but not completed the case yet

Since by USCIS definition your case is being "actively worked on" then the government has 120 days from the date of your second interview to issue a decision on your case if you did not get a N-652 at the end of one of the interviews.

    Proof of arrest thing?

I would still call ICE, get the name of the person you spoke to, and ask how to get a copy of the arrest record. Bring this information to your interview.

About 2 months waiting for the oath letter...

It is actually 120 days. You should make an InfoPass about 90 days after your interview if you still have not heard anything from USCIS.

New York ABC Violation - Problem for getting citizenship?

You can file in CA or in NY. This is your choice. I believe when you are away in school, USCIS makes an exception in this case. I cannot remember exactly where I read this though.
