I do not Know what you mean by mailing / posting date...... If mailing date means the of mailing the I485 forms package along with othera 131, EAD then the date was just before 4th of July Holiday

An Observation For the last 6 months I have been Obsessed with the i485 processing infact to the extent of addiction. One thing I noticed is there is some effect to almost all cases in 35 to 37 weeks after reciept date. Just my OBSERVATION. To further extent one other thing I have noticed...

Affidavit Absolutely unnecessary if you have Government issued birth certificate. But having said that getting an affidavit from 2 persons who was present during your birth would not hurt. Its cheap also.
