I've gap in experience during my work stay in USA. In 1998 I was in the country for 4 months between jobs. I got laid off from one company and I applied for H-1 from the new company and it took 4 months...
I heard from my company immigration dept. that they received RI for around 30 cases upto May 2003 but not for my case :(
Any idea how long it take from RI to LC approval?
Anyway hopefully DBEC is moving and this is a good thing!
ok. Thanks for answering again. The I-94 stapled with passport is expired. But the one in I-797 ( new approved H-1b) is valid till september 2007. Which one are you mentioning?

On the way back to USA, is it okay to hand over the I-94 to US and get new I-94 (in case they ask for it?)

I'm planning to move to Canada. I live in Texas and hoping to drive all the way. My friend who is on the way, wanted me to stop by his place for couple of days. So I wanted to know if my stay would be deemed illegal? I'm planning to come back to work in USA on H-1B after an year.
I have a valid H-1B visa now. If I'm leaving the country for good after resigning my job. Do I've to fly out of USA the next day? Is it illegal to stay couple of days after you resign?
