My 485 application was also filed the same way. It taked 2-3 weeks to get the I-140 receipt. I think it is still concurrent filing but helps avoid RFEs if the receipt of I-140 get attached to the I-485 application. I don't see any harm.

I am not sure as I haven't ever gone thru those complexities. I remember (3 years back), I was told about my qualification as BS+5 and I just gave a go ahead to my attorney to file as EB2. Sorry, I am not able to fully answer your question.

You might need to convince airline staff and immigration officers in India. My case, both the people consulted their colleagues/supervisor before accepting AP as a valid travel document. This happens specially when your visa got expired otherwise they just refer to a valid visa.
