As far as I am concerned, it is a flattering compliment to my country that so many people want to come here and stay. The last time I checked people are not flocking to a place like China.
If people stop immigrating to America (legally or illegaly) then it means the country is in real trouble.
I was not talking about the "true cost." I was talking about how much they can charge and still have so many people applying.
That said, in response to your question, I think the true cost is around $300 to $400. That is just a guess.

I do not see the parents in the story complaining about the application fees.
In light of the dates you wrote in your first post, cancellation of removal is not a possibility for you. Given that you have a final order of deportation you do not have any viable options for the time being. Hoping for an amnesty is your best bet. Good luck.
you answer no to question 27 and yes to question 28. Then explain on a separate sheet of paper that you applied for and received asylum in front of the judge.
do not worry about the birth certificate.
You can still sue them for excessive delays even without the benefit of the 120 day rule.
And back in 2007 and 2008 a lot of people had their interviews and then the USCIS "forgot" about their cases. The 120 day rule came in very handy.
Also look at 8 CFR 334.2(b): An application for naturalization may be filed up to 90 days prior to the completion of the required period of residence, which may include the three-month period of residence required to establish jurisdiction under Section 316(a) or 319(a) of the Act.
They do not any more.
The OP should not worry too much. It has been only two weeks. He or she has the cashed check, so it will not be too hard to track down the application (if it becomes necessary).
