Can I change my name between Interview and Oath? Please asvise!

My wife is russian as well, but she doesn't hold ukrainian citizenship anymore. And since her father's name is Aleksandr, when she changed her name after getting married, she put the americanized patronimic as middle name: Aleksandra. I love it. In Italian we don't have patronimics, or...

    Oath ceremony experience

Thanks. I think I was the only italian because I didn't see anybody else standing up when Italy was called, even though she was going pretty fast, so I might have missed it. Instead I saw plenty of italians on Tuesday interviewing at Federal Plaza. At least 4 of them.

    Oath ceremony experience

I have an appointment on Monday at the regional passport agency in New York. They process same-day passports there. Mine doesn't even need to be same-day, so I'll probably pick it up the next day. However, I'll use my italian passport to enter Egypt, Jordan and of course Italy (I have to).

    Oath ceremony experience

I was scheduled to attend a special naturalization ceremony this morning at 9:30 at the USS Intrepid Museum to celebrate Veterans' Day. I got there at 9:20 and I thought I was going to be early. There was no line at security and I breezed through. I was directed to a counter where USCIS...

    Abroad Studying: Need Your Advice!

    1. Looking at nowadays timelines, I would definitely say yes. 2. The other option would be to get a passport issued by her country of if she's stateless then a travel passport (I-131) and then an indonesian visa. Bali is an awesome place, I wish I could go back today!

Duplicate US passport for those who travel alot

Just give him/her your US passport and end of discussion, you're not trying to enter the US with a foreign passport. The US doesn't recognize dual citizenship in the US but it has no jurisdiction abroad. There you could legally use any passport you want to. Well, many countries have the same...

    Postinterview Anxiety. Please advise!

    1. Do nothing. Relax, enjoy the coming holidays. You have your oath letter. 2. No, enjoy your trip. It only influences if you're on the edge of breaking continuous or physical presence in the US. How many days out of the US you had in the last 5 years (or 3 if applying based on marriage)?

Duplicate US passport for those who travel alot

The Dept of State website clearly said that use of foreign passport does not jeopardize US citizenship. Obviously it can't be used in the US. Regarding diplomatic protection, Italian Govt is known to pay ransoms to free its kidnapped citizens. While not negotiating with terrotists is a good...

Traffic tickets and naturalization (threads merged)

At my interview my officer asked: "Have you ever been arrested, detained, cited" (he was reading it exactly as it is on the N-400.
