Yes, my employer was ready to apply for H1 only if I did not get my EAD. Was not prepared to put in mor emoney when I could be legal with an EAD. I got my EAD well ahead of time before my H1 expired

No I got my EAD before that and switched to the EAD

Yep that's the way to go if they have a valid H1. In my case my H1 has expired and hence I have to go through the wait. Its more than year now that my I485 has been filed and finger printing done....

Hi, Patience is the only way out I beleive. I am in teh same boat as yours. My RFE receipt date is October 29, 2003, yet no response. I have filed for my EAD - 2nd Renewal, hopefully I have been told that will trigger to look at my I140 application.. Good Luck....
