Hello,
I just got married overseas and I have a couple questions.
1. Can I file for I-130 and I-485 in my native country? I ask this because I wish to live here for the next 4 months or so. So ideally, I wish to file for I485 and I130 and kill some time instead of wait until I return back...
I have a question about income requirement. How many years of income does a Citizen need to provide to sponsor his/her spouse? Also, what is the actual figure that one needs to have earned to sponsor his/her spouse? Say, a US citizen only earned 10k in 2014, how should s/he go about sponsoring...
Just an update.
They did go to the USCIS center and her mom was given a letter that'd allow her to have her fingerprints taken if she were not to receive a notice by next Thursday.
Thanks.
Hi Lucy, she called the USCIS number today and they put in a request to expedite the case but since they're leaving in a fortnight, she isn't sure if they'll receive a finger print notice.
By "if lucky enough you can get FP done by walking in", are you talking about getting fingerprinted at...
Hello,
A colleague's mother applied for her reentry permit towards the end of December and she still hasn't received her finger print notice. She is scheduled to leave the country on Jan 30th and she's panicking about the option she has.
Can anybody be kind enough to suggest what can be...
By this, I'm sure you're talking about asylees. I work with a few Afghans and Nepalese people who filed for asylum and got naturalized. They haven't had any issues. Unless you lied in your original application, you can toss everything out and breathe a sigh of relief. You'd be returning home...
Yup. You can do that. They should be able to tell you. I'd actually call USCIS and talk to Tier 2 officer first. S/he has access to everything in the system.
You don't even need an infopass per se. Just show up and tell them the situation. There's no reason why they shouldn't be able to print out a letter that's already been sent out!
Yes. Less than 6 months.
NJN400, I don't think they even care about "current address". My dad never changed his DL (it still had his old address) and the only concern they showed was the length of his trip (he was outside the US for 4 months).
What NJN400 said. You need to go to a PP agency but for that, you need to schedule an appointment. In our own case, it wasn't ready the same day. We applied on the day of the oath (dropped it off) and were asked to come back the next day (our flight).
My father and I naturalized today and applied for expedited passport to fly out tomorrow.
Good luck to those that are still waiting for their Oath letters.
Finally, both I and my father have been scheduled for Oath for the 2nd.
Unfortunately, we won't be able to board our flight on the 3rd as there's no way we can have overnight passport by then.
