question about the sealed yellow envelope

Make sure you've left a lot of time between connecting flights. The process can take a long time so you don't want to miss your next flight or spend the entire time stressing. If you look stressed, they might wonder if you're hiding something :D

Hey Nicole! Nice to hear from you again - all the very best for your own move! We're enjoying Florida - love the heat! I sure missed that during the past year in Canada. Hubby decided he didn't miss Canada so much after enduring a typical cold, wet, grey and long winter (which is still going on...

FWIW, I had sent in my forms last year and then made 3 separate trips to the US after that and before my interview. I had the thought in the back of my mind that they might question me upon entry (or worse!) but it was never mentioned. However, I was entering the US on a B1/B2 that I got in...

US Goverment are shutting down DV Lottery? :O :(

Does anyone else giggle at the word "alien" or is it just me? I keep thinking of that horrible beast that burst through people's stomachs in those great sci-fi movies. The term seems so out of place in a discussion of immigration.

I've lost old pasppot ! How do I fill up "List dates of all previous visit" DS-230 ?

I didn't have my old passports either so I just filled that section out as best as I could with the month and year of visit instead of specific dates. They had no problem with that.

Pretty efficient, about getting your official GC already! Maybe we'll get ours soon too. Did our POE last week and we're on the road. In Arizona now. Heading east. We paid our fee already but I think I read about someone else getting such a letter too. Perhaps they're still sorting...

USCIS Immigrant Fee - How to pay?

We paid ours with a Canadian credit card and I'm sure my fellow Aussies have paid with Australian credit cards. Sounds like you got told incorrect information. That does tend to happen. Good luck.

Hey Jess, yeah, know what you mean about the attitude towards the US from others. Some have been excited for us and supportive, even envious (in a nice way). Most have thought we were crazy because of their stereotypically negative view of the US. Or maybe it's also a bit of envy in there, in...

Yeah, it's all pretty exciting and nerve-wracking, so you're happy with every little step forward in the excruciatingly long process. I know, been there, done that. Still pretty chuffed about the whole thing. Just did our POE last week but it's still not sunk in yet. Been to the US so many times...

Yes, it's in order but it's likely not 2,000 in front of you. Some apply just for fun but then don't pursue it, others change their minds about pursuing it, and some get rejected for various reasons. I wouldn't give up hope. No idea. It sure is different this year, with larger numbers for...

Don't get too excited. They've received it but it'll probably take a month before they get to yours. I called them last year after I sent them my forms and was told they get thousands of applications a day and it takes at least a month to get to it after it's received. I checked back in 5 weeks...

Yes. Just contact them to tell them you have moved from Oz and would like to be processed in London. Do it as early as possible though and follow up. I'm not sure, though, whether you will need to contact KCC (who do the initial processing), or the US consulate in Sydney who take over after KCC...

Travelling to USA after sending documents to KCC

I also had a B1/B2 visa before I got my GC and made 3 trips to the US between sending in forms and my interview. My own personal experience is that I had no problem at all. None of the border staff I dealt with mentioned anything. I had similar worries to you so on each trip I brought proof...

I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't think I was part of any conversation about emailed forms, sorry.

    High case number - worried

It's 50,000 in total, not 50k principals plus spouses and kids. So most years it's about 27k principals and the rest are spouses and kids.

This "guy" is not only not a faker, but he's a she :D I guess your super powers can't find out the person's gender? Why would you think I misrepresented my consulate and number? I'm rather offended.

    How important is work history?

I highly doubt most artistic type of work qualifies for the DV requirements, regardless of whether you have your own business doing it. Definitely go for the education qualification in your case.

Is it important the work or school of members of family?

No, only your qualifications are important - education or work experience in a qualifying occupation.

Yes, Naples is the only Italian US Consulate that processes Diversity Visas. You and your husband will do your interview in Naples, not Albania, since you live in Italy. You will do your medical exams wherever there is a Panel Doctor - this is a doctor that is approved by the US to do the...
