DV 2023 All Selectees (Consular Processing - CP)

Yeah - I understand where you are coming from, and not at all offended that you disagree! My wife had one like this - a Spanish document but every part of it had an English explanation. It was accepted, no problem. But sure - no harm in getting a translation - so that could be the safest route.

It's in English already - so no.

No ESTA needed. ESTA is part of the visa waiver program - you have a visa.

That is MUCH better. Well done.

Yes. FYI the lawyers all get a little nervous about absences over 6 months, but we have seen plenty of cases where a <12 month absence was fine, especially considering the point about tying up loose ends before the big move.

    August 2022 Visa Bulletin

    1. There is no formal priority as far as I know - more a question of luck. 2. Manually triggered - see below. I think Susie is correct, and that could be an important point for some cases depending on timing. If someone were to be interviewed later this month the system might not have visas...

Yep. Warsaw and Frankfurt in particular did well, but the way that interviews were spread among embassies was pretty amazing.

You have an AF number and should have an AS number. Unless you are married to someone from Egypt (and were at the time of entry) you will be disqualified. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but there is the ugly truth.

DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

I an sense all DV cases are expedited. When you ask for an expedite, I think they routinely deny that request. Mom could clarify. Back in my day the tools were congress person and walk in. I think the walk in has gone - so congress person might be the only option, but as always I defer to Mom on...

DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Again, numbers are not saved for AOS cases. I am certain of that. I have seen a number of court declarations that describe the process, including one from a couple of months ago. I also experienced this and discussed it with the IO back in 2014 in my own case. KCC send the cases to USCIS based...

Wow, this is a novel. I'm sorry I missed it - I didn't see this as a reply to me. There are a couple of major problems with your position. First, your idea of numbers for August and September is incorrect. We have the actual data, we know how many cases there are and we know the...

    August 2022 Visa Bulletin

I see you were ahead of me in terms of a warning to AOSers. The data is accurate (as much as it can be), and I just gave an explanation on the AOS thread why that might be a concern for them. So yeah - congress person etc. The latest official figures available are a bit old so only show 111 AOS...

Agreed - the 708 will be based on receipts, not DS260s.

    August 2022 Visa Bulletin

KCC scheduled almost 15k people for August interviews and 10K for September. They have done an impressive job of trying to hit the numbers - we had never seen monthly numbers of anything like this before.

DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

OK, firstly, in order to schedule a CP case the visa office needs to allocate the needed visas for each person on the case. So - when you see an embassy taking 40 cases, including 85 people, the VO allocates 85 visas to that embassy for the month of interviews. At the end of the month the...

DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

As Mom will probably confirm, there are things you can do to enlist the help of the embassy. In previous years we have seen people get embassies "lined up" with appointments ready to interview the FTJ candidate as soon as possible after the AOS interview. We have seen that happen in the final...

DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

IN fact, this is a general thought. I remember in my own AOS case, I was current in June, but my FO wanted to "bundle" a number of cases together and in the end I had my interview on September 2. For those of you still processing AOS this year, just remember that AOS cases, unlike CP cases do...

DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

I'm not 100% sure, but I think FTJ cases are assigned a visa in the same way that CP cases are. I based that assumption on a couple of super last minute FTJ cases we have seen in the forum in previous years. However, to play it safe, contact Tokyo and see if you can get an earlier appointment...

DV 2022 All Selectees (Consular Processing - CP)

Fingers crossed for the AP process. With all the help you have given people here it would only be "just" if you get your visa. No 7% cap worry for your nationality this year, but I posted a video last night that I am concerned about the number of visas left for the cases that clear AP in these...

Jesse just told me the final Preston case has been scheduled. So happy to hear that! Congrats all, and if anyone is still to see the staff at Suva - please let them know there is at least one newbie Yank that appreciates what they did in stepping up this year!
