Thanks for the reply. As per post earlier, if there has been a secondary inspection for a person entering or leaving, then these details will naturally be available at a naturlization meeting. This is a known and people experiences speak to that.
Manifest enteries are for arrival...
Thanks, but...
Well all the above have been done in anycase, with exception to the residence in the USA - including the re-entry permit.
Just am interested to hear of anyone that has had there departures and arrivals checked - other then via the passport stamps - so far no one can provide...
To claify
Thanks of your reply.
Assume you did not get any stamps by entering 3 times into the country?
What does the 2x telephone checkin mean and 1x physically present?
Does this mean that you did you checkin via the telephone twice? Welcome your clarification.
Thanks Again.
Thanks for your experiences. Did you have exit stamps for all the flights out? Usually they do not stamp when exiting the country. If you did not have an exit stamp - how did he verify that the dates where correct. Welcome your response? All the best...
I do not think there is a minimu income, you just have to ensure that they are filed and that you pay taxes. I presume you are doing this as you are not actually resident in the country. I understand that you need to have 5 years of taxes to show at the interview. Anyone care to differ?
To respond to this, they have sick elderly parents and have to look after them in their native country. On getting citizenship they can bring them to the USA. Hence the difficulties they face.
I know that they have to provide this information. But the question was has anybody known of an officer in an interview doing a check by leaning over to his computer and tapping in details to get all your past flight schedules. I do not think this happens and is not in people's experiences...
Because after the citizenship they will want to stay in the US as they can bring their family. Only during the greencard process they have to undertake this.
Am going through the N400 process.
I think the interviewing officer has very limited ways of checking the trips in and out of the country.
The only data that he/she seems to have is the stamps on the passport? (providing you have not been detained for closer inspection previously on entry...
The 180 days is 'per vacation' not per year. Trips cannot be longer then 180 days.
I am pretty sure of this.
If this is not correct we would all welcome notification.
to reply to ur questions:
1. yes used an attorney to apply
2. yes, reason had to be given as part of completeing the document. reason was for business and letter headed documentation was included in the application on recommendation from the attorney
3. can't recall - but it should be on...
I've seen some posts which talk to the year or so long wait, for a travel document - the document for spending a couple of years out the USA.
I am a british citizen with green card. I wanted to indicate that I applied for a travel doc in December 2004 and obtained it March 2005 - took approx...
As far as my information is concerned (and I am not an attorney), there is rebuttable presumption that the residence as been abandoned after 6months. After 1 yr the presumption is not rebuttable, but you still can obtain a special visa on exceptional circumstances to come back in after a year...
There is a good PDF on citzenship at the uscis.gov site. to answer briefly, physical presence (PP) and continuous residency (CR) tests must be met during a 5 yr period preceeding the greecard - meaning basically you should spend 30 months residing in the US and not take trips longer then 6...
Thanks Joe - but are you sure
You sure Joe?
Part 3. question 4 on the I-131 form asks if you have been issued one before and the date issued.
I presume that if you apply for a re-entry, even though it does not have a stamp and used, you will have to declare it on the new I-131...
I understand that public charges can threaten a greencard and hence future naturalization, only when a applicant seeks readmission after leaving the county. The questions of public charge seems only applicable when there is a rebuttlable presumption or a questions of the applicants intend to...
you will be surprised how time goes by and with each year you'll feel Italy is nice to visit, but not as practical to live. I would not rule out becoming a citizen in the future to make your life easier - just take care not to take trips longer then 6 mnths without appropriate paperwork.
I think you under estimate the benefits of citizenship for people who want to call the USA their home. You are more secure as a citizen and can leave and enter as you want. Also if you are on social security programs and re-enter the USA after a stay longer then 6 months you could face issues...
