    DV 2008 CP Interview Experiences

This is my advice to you, given that english is not your better language... When u go for the interview, answer ONLY what they ASK you. DO NOT try to explain yourself unnecessarily, especially now that your english is not good. When I did my interview, I kept my answers short and only...

Does CN 2009ASXXX19XXX get any chance to win DV?

I remember feeling exactly like u...very excited when selected, then feeling depressed when I knew how it worked given my very high number. Nonetheless, I consoled myself that I will have a 30 day opportunity window to present my papers when my number become current, based in historical...

    Photos

yes, it does matter. I just came from the interview, and I had initially made 4 photos, but the 2nd NL requires 5 in the instructions, so we took a new 5 set with us to the interview, and the officer switched the ones in the medical package with our new set of 5 pics.

Forget include Bar Code to KCC

Like he said, it's no big deal, no need to worry yourself to death, no need to send it alone... as long as u write the case number on the TOP RIGHT side of each page of DS-230 and on the back of each copy of the original documents, u should be fine

See what happens when we have a more clearer pic? I think Gerindo's explanation is excellent. I could not have said it better. To Kihikaman: 1.) U should lawyer-up with a REALLY GOOD lawyer and push to get your wife in status asap (or before the interview) 2.) U dont have to send the...

Lucy, again, as I stated these were ASSUMPTIONS.... The OP has to provide more info, so as to be given more relevant advice. Since he has provided so little, I am guestimating his possible scenarios. WRT on how these assumptions help, I am trying to tell him that all hope is not lost, if...

First of all lets put some assumptions on the table... 1.) his wife is from the same country as he is 2.) they do not have kids 3.) his wife has never been issued a deportation order or a notice to appear infront of an INS officer since she "quit school" 4.) they married legally in their...

    I'm in desparate situation------help

Just like I thought. I have crossed into canada by land & air, and never has my I-94 been requested (or demanded) by any one. I believe there is a process where the airline would take the I-94, but it might be voluntary on the i-94 holder. This creates a loophole which the OP's wife could say...

my point exactly!....so do CP and keep the "overstay" out of discussions....and be smart of how you answer...it could mean approval or denial...i.e. say enough, but not too much

Not gonna argue about this...I have been in & out of US several times and I always keep my i-94...and it's never been an issue so u say... No one is telling anyone to lie...If the wifes status in US is not brought up by the officer, then no need to bring it up either a.) You cant lie...

    I'm in desparate situation------help

Think of it this way....If you leave the US, the immigration people have no idea that you left unless u surrender your i-94. A lot of people never surrender their I-94's upon departure. This being the case, the Officer cannot just assume that this guys wife had overstayed her visa, unless two...

FYI...I personally know someone who got denied DV using AOS because of over staying on a Non-Immig Visa by over 180 days. I dont know how it will directly affect u, but I suspect that her denial might be detrimental to your chances. Another option is to just wait until you have completed...

my suspision is that they did not pass the medicals. for example they had evidence of TB or HIV. They should go back to the doctor and request a copy of their medical report (assuming they were ok on educational & income/affidavit of support). In my case, the FIRST thing (after I paid the...
