Thank pharunde2,
If I want to send Bar Code to KCC later, is it ok?
or email them with Bar Code attachment.
Ok the reason the bar code is included is to speed up the administration processing, remember KCC gets 10’s of thousands of forms after the NL’s go out, so being able to scan in the CN is way quicker then having to manually type in every case number.
Given that you forgot to add it means that some worker at KCC will have had to type in your case number to what ever system they use in order to further process your file. Sending the Bar code now will really not achieve anything. Do not complicate things by sending it in now, its too late. For get about the barcode and start worrying about your documents. Do not send any documents to KCC apart from the forms requested, the people at KCC do not make the decision on your visa, that will be made at your designated consulate in your country. You need to bring all requested documentation to that interview, when you number becomes current.
By the way and this is not directed at the OP but all DV winners, this should help to highlight the fact that people should take time to fill out their forms and follow the instructions correctly.
I would suggest filling them out by hand. Then putting them away, then take them out again a few days later and see can you see mistakes, then fill in a new set of forms. Then again put them away again and so on.
When you are happy that you have filled in the forms with out any errors I would suggest people go to the online forms fill them in and print them out, that way there can me no mistakes when the forms are submitted. It amazes me the amount of posts that people put up that state “wrong name”, even “wrong DOB” once!
These are very simple forms and people should not be making stupid mistakes on them, take the time to fill them in correctly, get them verified by some one else’s before you go rushing to send them in. This may sound like common sense but make a copy for the forms before you mail them, really its not rocket science to think of this! I am just waiting for the posts now, “oh I never copied my forms, and I don’t remember what I put for Q number XX”
I spend a month making sure that my forms were completed correctly. Lets face it most people still have 6 to 12 months before their CN is current so there is no rush to send in the forms, get them right and follow the instructions!!!!!
