Hi Folks,
My 6 years on H1 expire on 30th Sept 2006.
I am starting a new job on 1st Aug 2005 ( next month) and my new employer is willing tp file my GC through PERM.
Is there sufficinet time for to file for my GC - before the last 365 days of my H1 start...

Thanks GCCovet,
My current firm is not filing my GC..so I was thinking of filing it through another firm, who is willing. With PERM in picture, and labor getting approved/denied in 2-3 months, I see no harm in applying through them.
Do you think this makes sense?
thanks guys.
I was sure that I will get atleast my EAD by Dec 05. But these BRC's really have messed things up. My application reached Philly Fed in July'04 and since then its been getting worst.
And now my wife has to go on a H4 because off all this...amazing
Question regarding 6 year H1 period
folks,
While I am waiting for the Phlly BRC to act, my wife's H1 is expiring (6 yrs) May 2006. Can someone please tell me what is the LATEST time I can transfer her to H4 w/o her having to leave the country or somthing stupid like that?
Thanks in advance.
My co. laywers informed me about the move to Philly. I trust they got the necessary notices/case numbers.
I dont plan on calling Philly to check the status of my case..so I guess I never have bothered to find out what the case # is. I probably should
whats ur situation?
In response to Tomshu's Info
So if the applications at Phily BEC/BRC are processed according to the priority date ( date at which application was filed with the State Agency,
Does it mean that my application, filed from VA in Oct 2002, now with Phily Regional since July'04, will be processed...
its all humbug
After waiting for 3 years to see some movement, I have finally given up..this GC things was messing up my career and I finally had to choose between GC and work. Chose work. Leaving my current employeer for, hopefully, a much better job. More responsibilities, etc etc.
If...
Sorry to hear this...its everone's nightmare..BUT
If you really pressure your lawyers, they can still provide the explanations. Under any circumstances, it seems unlikely that your priortiy date will change.
" BRC is expecting to receive employers' responses within the next two to three weeks.
"
Does that mean that the letters have already been sent out for the first few applicants?
thanks for calling.
A quick suggestion for others: pls dont flood the new centers with calls. If we can have 1 or 2 people calling on a regular basis, that should work for us
Now I know why Philly DOL has not moved for the past 6-7 months..Late last year Philly was almost current..meaning no back-log..in order to use the Backlog Reductions Centers, some smart Dilbert Dude there probably decided that they needed to create a backlog so as to be able to use the backlog...
