Are there any fellow Dec 01 filers still waiting for their 2nd FP notice?
Helpless,

RFE Issued 06/13/02
RFE Received by BCIS 07/03/02
2nd FP is not mandatory
As per my lawyer, an officer could mistakenly approve a case wherein the FP has expired.
However, I have yet to see a case (using the message board as a valid sample) whereby a case has been approved without the need for a second FP.

Misery Loves Company
BCIS received my RFE response on 07/03/03. And my fingerprints expired on June 7, 2003.
But, of course, BCIS is in no rush to send me my 2nd FP notice. I have lost all hope and confidence in the system.

Count me "In da club"
It's been 3 weeks since BCIS received my RFE response, and over 16 months since my first finger-printing.
My co-worker, with a late January RD, received his second FP notice last week. There is absolute no method to BCIS's madness. They should rename BCIS to BS.

Did you ask about 2nd FP Notice?
Deng Deng,
Did you ask the lady why you have yet to receive your 2nd FP notice. Like yourself, it's been over 16 months since my first FP, but I have yet to hear from BCIS.
What do you think of the new rumor that claims that FP's are now valid for 19...
Same boat as RD_Dec19_01
Here are my details:

ND 01/02/02
FP 03/07/02

RFE Received 07/03/03
Still waiting for the second FP notice. It's already more than a month overdue!

RD 12/18/2001
FP 03/07/2002
RFE issued 06/13/2003
RFE received 07/03/2003
It seems that BCIS issues 2nd FP notices only after the RFE response is received. Based on that timeline, I should be getting the notice any day now.
Better Solution : Job Portability after 180 Days
BCIS should implement a new rule whereby one need not stay in the same profession (job title and duties) after 180 days of filing I-485.
It seems impractical to commit to approving all cases before 180 days.

I am expecting to receive my second FP notice around July 15.
It seems that BCIS is strictly enforcing the 15 month FP validity. But is there anyone who has gotten approved after 15 months without the need for a re-FP?
It only makes sense that BCIS waive the 2nd FP requirement on cases where they have issued an RFE before 540 days.

Similar Situation
An RFE was issued on my case on June 13, but there is still no sign of the letter.
Over the years, I have become accustomed to the ineptness of the INS/BCIS. It's best to ignore it all, and live our normal lives.

Has anyone received a second FP notice after an RFE has been issued?
An RFE was issued on my case on the 15-month expiration anniversary date of my first FP.

How long does it take to receive the RFE letter?
My fingerprints expired on June 7. I hope that they waive off the second fingerprinting.
Is anybody here on the same boat -- RFE issued around the time of the first FP expiration?
Thanks,

My lawyer called to say that the VSC Clerical Department is in the process of mailing out a RFE. I am really, really pissed.
I came to this country as an undergrad in 1991, spent a year in Practical Training, 6 years on an H-1 visa, and 1+ year on an EAD. And now I get a RFE!
Oh well...
I have the EXACT same dates (and from Boston)!
Holy Crap!
I hope the officer does not transfer my case as well. We share the same dates, and location.

ND 01/02/2002

My guess is that BCIS is approving cases by FP Date rather than RD. They obviously do not want to be hassled by the paperwork of a million re-fingerprints.

Oh well. I hope the Green Card approval follows shortly. I have exactly 2 months until I have to re-do the stupid fingerprinting.

Equally frustrated (same situation)
Take consolation in the fact that you are not alone.
My details are:
I-765 RD -- February 24, 2003
I-485 RD -- December 18, 2001
My EAD expires on May 7, 2003. What a mess!
