My cousin had 2 or 3 yrs exp. in C++, MFC, Oracle, etc in India.
He was not successful in finding a job in SanJose (tried for 3 months).
Currently, the streets are littered with unemployed programmers, many of them American citizens. Best of luck to you.
Me and Wife\'s Details:
RD 1/5/2001
ND 1/18/201
FP 3/29/2001
I was Approved 12/31/2001
She was transferred 1/24/2002
Recevived transfer notice Late Jan.
No Interview Appointment from Chicago yet.
does it specifically say "interview"?
usually the transfer notice says something like: "transferred to speed processing. you will be notified of a decision once the processing is complete"
Today checked AVM. It said on Jan 24 case was "transferred to Chicago". And they will "mail a decision".
Any idea what happens next? How long will it take to get approval at the Chicago office? Does she have to go to an interview? When will an interview be scheduled...
Amrish - I also spoke to IIO today
My details:
RD 01/2001, ND 01/2001, AD 12/2001
wife not approved yet.
IIO said her case is on the officer\'s desk but cannot tell when it will be processed. She also told that there is no RFE (but she said this does not mean an RFE won\'t be issued)...
I got my approval notice in mail today. But my wife is not approved yet (apparently her file is currently with an officer).
I want to make a single trip to INS and have both our passports stamped at the same time.
Question: is there a time limit for getting your passport stamped?
thanks.
My I-485 was approved on December 31 2001 but my wife is still not approved (I am the primary applicant).
I just got off the phone with an NSC information officer. She told me that my wife\'s I-485 case is "with an officer".
What does it mean when it is with an officer? How long...
Found out about my approval a couple minutes ago through the AVM.
But when I punch in my wife\'s number it does not yet indicate approval. Is that normal?

Me and wife married exactly 1 year before I-485 application - still transferred
to Chicago. How can you explain this.
Is one year not sufficient time for them to believe that we\'re legitimately married?
My PD is Sept 1998
NSC doesn\'t go by PD (or even ND).
At NSC AD\'s are random, FP\'s are random.
For an NSC approval you need to have luck on your side and hope your file hasn\'t fallen through the cracks and forgotten forever.
(same goes for Chicago DOL). What is it about these...
don\'t wait too eagerly
You can forget about your approval until Sept 2002.
NSC\'s actual approval time is roughly 16 months at this juncture. The bulk of cases being cleared now are July/Aug 2000 ND\'s (regardless of what they are claiming). It will grow to at least 18 months next year due...
NSC currently processing pretty wide time window.
99% of ND\'s ranging from April 2000 to August 2000.
The other 1%? They are ND\'s of Sep 00 to Dec 00.
Ferjo - Question for you
You said your friends with later RD/ND than you have already been approved.
Can you give their approximate RD/ND?
Were they under NSC?
thanks.
