Updated Case processing dates for June are published on the USCIS Site!

At least for Kansas City DO they could be correct. I have PD of 07/13/07, received my Oath letter just before this latest update for 06/27/08, and the processing date shows 07/15/07, which is an advance over last month. YMMV with other offices.

Kansas City MO - N-400 Timeline

The June 15th USCIS Kansas City DO N-400 processing dates are now posted and show July 15, 2007. This would match my time line of 07/13/07 priority date and 06/27/08 Oath ceremony. Given the time lines of those of you waiting, I'm wondering if they are trying to clear the older approved cases...

Kansas City MO - N-400 Timeline

We had the same issue with Kansas City (our interview was the day before yours), except that I called the USCIS helpline after 90 days. They submitted an inquiry to Kansas City DO. Just over three weeks later we received the Oath letter with an Oath date of 27th June. So either it was my time...

what does the State Dept mean by "US citizen must use a US passport to leave the US"

Danny...I know what you mean. Shortly I will be a dual national of the US and UK with two passports. Re your question, if I was traveling from the USA to the UK do I show my US passport to the USA checkin agents to "leave" the USA, or my UK passport since that is the passport I will be using to...

Kansas City MO - N-400 Timeline

The US District Court of Kansas in Kansas City (500 State Ave, Kansas City, KS) regularly schedule one Oath ceremony every month, typically on the last Friday of each month although the exact date sometimes varies. Upcoming dates are: June 27th, July 25th, August 29th. Apparently they have been...

    Fund trasfer to USA

I am not a tax specialist but my understanding is that the USA taxes you on worldwide income and gains as a US tax resident. Therefore if you sell an overseas property while you are a US tax resident you can be liable for tax on the gain in that property. Even worse the exchange rates in effect...

still waiting for Oath Notice in Chicago

In Kansas City I had to wait nearly 4 months for the Oath letter after an "recommended for approval" interview. It seems the July 07 applicant bulge is now hitting the Oath scheduling.

Kansas City MO - N-400 Timeline

YES! - the oath letter finally arrived. I don't know if it was just my time, or because of my USCIS helpline inquiry 3 weeks ago. Now less than 4 weeks to go! Nebraska Service Center (NSC) / Kansas City District Office (KCMO) 07/13/07 N-400 application posted 07/16/07 N-400 application...

    Unique situation

You do not necessarily need to apply via an immigration attorney, just consult with one re your circumstances and see what they recommend, and maybe what they suggest on how to answer the N-400. That's what I did with my application. An upfront consultation is much less expensive than a full...

Done. Thanks for all the info.

My DO is Kansas City, MO but I am a Kansas resident so the Oath ceremony would be in Kansas. It seems the that Missouri residents are not needing to wait as long.

Done. Thanks for all the info.

Congrats...I bet you feel good tonight. I'd have loved a same day Oath, even if it meant waiting in the office. Currently I'm 106 days post interview waiting for the Oath letter!

You might need to restart your browser too. In Firefox clearing the cache and all .gov cookies did not work for me while I was still running the browser. Running a different Firefox session did work.

ok to apply for passport right after oath?

Apply whenever you like. However before you mail your Naturalization certificate with the application take a black and white copy of it just in case. That is why I personally would not apply for a passport at the actual Oath ceremony, but would go back home first and then to the local post office.

Kansas City MO - N-400 Timeline

curiouspal...Congratulations. Are you a KS or MO resident? I'm asking because I am a KS resident 103 days after interview with no Oath letter. I sent a query via the USCIS telephone helpdesk 10 days ago (after 90 day deadline) and am currently waiting for a response to my query or an Oath...

    Continuous Residence Issue

The reason they ask you to list all trips since becoming a permanent resident is to ensure that you have not violated any conditions of being a permanent resident, which is a pre-requisite for becoming a naturalized citizen.

US citizen guardian of foreign citizen child?

Sometime in the next few months (just waiting for Oath) we will become US citizens (and therefore dual UK/US nationals). My wife was just asked by her sister to be the legal guardian for her sister's two children, currently ages (nearly) 17 and 15. Her sister and children are UK citizens...

Have you ever failed to file a required Federal or state tax return

Until just now I believed that S-corps had to have US citizen shareholders, but some quick research indicates that S corps are only not allowed nonresident alien shareholders, where the 'nonresident' will be based on tax law, which is much broader than immigration law. I think the S corp/citizen...

Have you ever failed to file a required Federal or state tax return

I would agree. Also personally I would not think the S-corp return is pertinent since that is a corporation. What would be pertinent is your personal return that included the income from the corporation. But then I'm neither a CPA not immigration attorney.
