hehehe :D
I just didn't know if they had separate "welcome - we're now processing your case" and later a "welcome - your case has been approved" letters. She never had an interview, so I wasn't sure how the approval would be done (my I-130 and I-485 were approved together at...

I got the following email for my mom's I-485 application today:
"Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
Current Status:
On June 12, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you...

The I-130 cases for both of my parents were transferred to CSC early in May (around the 10th, I think) and the I-130 and I-485 were submitted together. I guess I really need to get those receipt numbers from my mom. Thanks for replying.
I485 & I130
For those of you who helped your parents file for AOS, was the I-130 and I-485 approved at the same time? I just got an email from DHS that told me that one of their I-130 was approved (I don't know which one - no receipts in front of me). I don't have their I-485 receipt #s so I...
I applied myself and I don't think I had a cover letter. Maybe a summary sheet or something on the front (summary of the documents I sent in - I applied based on marriage). Applied around June 15th, 2005. FP in July sometime. Interview letter received around November and Interview and Oath...
Might be different depending on who is administering the ceremony but during my oath, the families with young kids (there was a Russian couple and also an Indian couple with a 2 or 3 year old and both were getting naturalized) and the disabled (a lady with crutches) were asked to sit up front...
ummmmm... not necessarily true. At least not in my case. And not in the cases of a lot (most) of people in my oath ceremony. My GC was the first thing the officer asked for during my interview. Now, I don't know if it would have been different if I had not been able to take the oath on the...
Something similar happened to me...
when I got my permanent green card. I adjusted through marriage and had a conditional GC. About 4 months after my I-751 interview (received permanent GC about 2 weeks later) my husband & I went to Canada. On the way back, I got stopped and they kept asking...
I would bring passport
I had my interview & oath yesterday in Atlanta. The officer did ask to see my passport, along with my driver's license and my green card (which she kept). My naturalization was marriage based but she didn't want to see any of the big stack of papers I had brough in as...
I left with my certificate in hand at 4:30 PM. Some people did the ceremony with a white piece of paper and then after the ceremony had to go upstairs to get their real certificate. There were 77 people in all and maybe about 50% (maybe more) had the white people instead of the certificate. I...
Interview was scheduled for 9:45 AM. Didn't actually go in until about 10:30 AM. I was going to change my name but my interviewer said that if I did that, I would not be able to take the oath today so I opted not to do that. Interview took about 10 minutes - she didn't even take any of the...
Same day oath in Atlanta
I had an interview scheduled for 9:45 AM (didn't actually go in until about 10:30 AM) and they had the oath ceremoney at 2:00 PM. They also had an 11:00 AM ceremony but I wasn't finished soon enough. As a result, this pretty much took the whole day (done at 4:30 PM)...
