myGC2005: If your EAD has been approved, that implies USCIS has received your I-140 and I-485 (Just commonsense). I know a case where USCIS has lost his file and the case was approved eventually.

gangsatl , I don't think you can travel outside of U.S while your 145 is pending without A.P . You can get A.P in few days if you can show an emergency situation at the local office. Your best bet is to talk to a good lawyer.
