Good luck! I have often thought of going home too because of all the bureaucratic ridiculousness. I'd like to start my own business, but that dream gets further and further away all the time.
I don't think you can check anything without the receipt number. Not sure though.
Hey, has anyone got fingerprint appointments from Nebraska? I see people filing at Texas are getting their appointments quickly, but I don't have mine yet. I'm going away for two weeks at the end of...
I would call up the surgeons and ask exactly what they do. You can always say your wife is shy with male doctors and that's why you're asking.
For mine (I'm female), all they did was blood pressure/pulse, temperature, weight, listened to my heart/lungs with a stethoscope and felt the glands...
I got my receipt notice! Well, I got it yesterday but couldn't post again for some reason. So, we sent the package on June 5, my filing date is June 6, and my receipt date is June 14. No priority date listed, and the receipt came from Nebraska. We filed in Nebraska, but I'd half expected it...
Ugh, I'm still stuck with nothing. No receipt yet. Maybe it'll come today. But I realized that my attorney didn't sign the I-485 form, so maybe they'll kick it back as being incorrect.
I hope they start looking at these things quickly, and we're not stuck in limbo for 3 years or something...
I don't see why it would be a problem - the same name is used in both. I would think most birth certificates list a bunch of places, from the small area up to the larger state/province level, and you'd never put all of them in a passport. I asked my attorney in relation to mine and he said it...
I believe the X-ray is actually OK if you're not pregnant. They don't want you to have it while pregnant because the radiation may harm the baby. I haven't seen anything about the radiation harming an un-pregnant woman who is trying to conceive. [But I'm not a doctor, so don't know this for a...
Just shamelessly putting us back on the front page. :)
Still no receipt here.
Oh, and by the way, you can find the USCIS doctors on their website too. They're called "civil surgeons" so you can do a search on that.
Yes, if you've already had the vaccination(s), you don't need to have them again.
And I believe the latest advice is that women should not become pregnant within 28 days after receiving the MMR, not 6 months as it used to be. I don't believe anything else affects you while trying to...
OK, I am not an expert AT ALL, so take all this with a grain of salt.
BUT prior to getting my medical, I had some tests done for another reason, and I had a positive Hep C test, so I started looking in to some of this. I was convinced I'd be deported/refused my GC. Luckily for me, it turned...
No receipt # for me yet. We mailed the docs on the 5th. But I did check the Express Mail tracking number yesterday on the USPS website, and that said it was received and signed for at USCIS on the 6th, only a day after we mailed it. I can't tell if the checks were cashed because they were...
Please add me! I posted on the EB3 specific thread, but may as well post here too. My dates are in my siggie.
I am EB3, rest of world, RIR, FL.
Still waiting for the receipt. My I-485 was mailed on June 5, 2007 to NSC. I-140 was approved at TSC so I guess the I-485 will be transferred...
The PD could be current. For EB3 it is June 1, 2003 for people from China, India and Mexico, and June 1, 2005 for everyone else.
And my attorney told me I don't need AP if I am still H1. He said I can use the H1 to travel.
It's really not a big deal (physically), though, so don't worry too much about it. Just a quick jab with the needle, OK it burns a bit while they inject the stuff, and then you go back 2 days later to see if it reacted. I mean, it wouldn't be fun for a kid, but hopefully you can bribe them...
No, no receipt yet. I just got a copy of the filing papers from my attorney. They filed by Express Mail. I deal with another branch of the US Gov't in my job, and they always take the mailing date of Express Mail packages as the filing date - I guess I just assumed it would be the same way...
My USCIS doctor accepted the following:
1. Vaccination record of me having the measles vax.
2. Blood test I had done in 2004 (for another reason), showing immunity to rubella and varicella (I had the rubella vax and had chicken pox as a kid). This was done by my regular doctor.
3. Me...
I'm sure there ARE a whole bunch of us. Maybe people will slowly come out of the woodwork. I just got a copy of my papers today, looks like my I-485 was filed on the 5th. I put my dates in my sig.
In case it helps anyone, my attorney actually filed:
