I confirmed this with the US embassy in Delhi yesterday night and PCC from consulate is enough for people like us.

I applied in SFO and they take 4 weeks. Any ways to track the PCC process, answer is nope... I found indian consulate people in SFO to be kinda rude and careless esp if you are holding an indian passport :)

Where do we obtain PCC from? Do we need to obtain it from the Indian consulate in US or do we also need to obtain it from the local police station in India.

I already have a PCC from Indian consulate Not sure we need PCC from local police authorities as well...

I don\'t think you can mail it You (and your family members) need to take the original passport and the passport copies in person at the SFO consulate. Anybody can collect the PCC after a month but the person collecting should have original passport of all the applicants.

No need to deposit passport I got my PCC from Indian consulate in SFO and you don\'t need to deposit the passport. You just need to give them a copy of the passport but when you go to collect PCC you need to take the original passport since they also put a stamp on your passport saying that a...
