Helping my father with Citizenship (A few questions)

I'm 46. I never registered. I wasn't asked about that at all... (but I never had to register so maybe that was the reason they didn't ask)

    100 interview Civil questions

They asked me to write a 4 word sentence: "The people elect Congress" and to read a 3 word sentence: "Who elects Congress?" Real easy PS: I thought 5 of my 6 question were very easy actually. The only one I didn't know before starting to study for interview was: who wrote the decleration.. I...

    100 interview Civil questions

I just got back from my interview today so let me answer you while I'm still fresh: You will be asked - orally - those 10 questions. The interviewer will stop once you answered 6 correctly. You do NOT have to give all the possible answers, any one of those will suffice. They just show you what...

citizenship employment question- registered company on spouse name and work for that company

Thank you very much. The interview went easy and smooth. I wasn't asked a single question (!!) about my GC sponsoring job or why I left them... Hopefully that would work for you as well :))

Detail traffic tickets that happened in the last 5 years or beyond that?

The wording of the form is "Ever", which goes way beyond 5 years to the beginning of times... I had one in 1994 when I was just visiting here as a tourist driving a rental car. I found the record online on the county court website, but the Court did not keepthe physical records for that long...

    citizenship interview illegal family member

Always say the truth, You're under oath!!! That doesn't mean you need to volunteer information.. Just like their (ex)policy in the US Military: Don't Ask - Don't Tell..

    trafik tickets

I don't think there should be any problem.. Especially since you provided them with the records they asked... Some adjudicators don't have the authority to approve a case on the spot, so it goes to a "supervisor", but that's only formality... Good Luck!!

citizenship employment question- registered company on spouse name and work for that company

I'm not saying it is necessarily a problem, but just expect to be asked on that, and have a reasonable/objective reason for leaving... The shorter you stayed with GC sponsor - the more convincing your explanation should be... It doesn't matter that you had worked 3 years BEFORE the GC, the...

    Tax returns and W2

Thanx for suggestions.. The funny thing - a day after I called to re-order my transcripts - they arrived in the mail!!! All 5 of them.. So I guess I will receive a second batch in the mail in a week or so :))

citizenship employment question- registered company on spouse name and work for that company

While I'm not sure how to answer your specific questions I just want to point out a different issue you mentioned, i.e. leaving your greencard sponsor "after few months"... How long have you been with him? was it 2-3 months or more like 10-11 months? Rule of thumb: leaving after 2 years -...

    Tax returns and W2

That's a good idea.. I checked their website and found a local office.. says only have transcripts for current year + 3 years back (I need five, but I guess it's better than nothing..). Do you know if they give transcripts on the spot or have to wait for mail...?

    Tax returns and W2

You shouldn't have a problem getting a 5 year tax transcripts.. I just called their hotline and ordered the past five years to be mailed to me free of charge: 2007-2008-2009-2010-2011 5 years

So does the recommendation to carry tax returns pertain only to marriage based N400's or also to Employment Based? And if so - just the last year or two or the whole 5 years?

Question about Countries visited in N-400 Application

Any exits out of the US with a return in less than 24hrs (say to Mexico or Canada for 1 day or less) do NOT need to be listed. Hence I'm "Assuming" that a less than 24hr stop somewhere would not have to be mentioned as well... But why not mention just to be safe?

    Interview Check-List

Thanks for the links guys.. Looks like my foreign passport and greencard are the only things I really have to take with me to the interview.. :) So, out of the 5 years I have been on my Employment-Based greencard I have worked 2 years for my sponsoring employer, another 2 years for a different...

    Interview Check-List

Was just wondering if someone has already come up with a list of recommended things to bring with you to the interview as a "just in case" back up? (I mean things not asked for in the interview letter, such as Tax Returns? Paid traffic tickets? Proof of 3 months residency? etc...)
