Nothing to worry!!!!!
This is very common answer, you just go a week before the expiration date, they will isssue without furthur questions, this suggestion with personal experience!
I guess its an error!
If your expedite request date is prior to March 1st, I dont blame them, As usual they cannot follow the processing dates, can you pl let us know the date of expedite request, If they responded to you after 1st, as Raju said we have to wait & watch.

Needhelp, your comment is real practical, I suggest you to send the copies of FOIPA & FBI letter which stated "No name check was requested" . I did the same, once if any action was taken by USCIS, its pretty quick for FBI, to respond, since FOIPA says no...

I just sent a letter giving all our details, enclosing the copies of FOIPA, email from FBI, stating USCIS has not initiated name check, mentioned current processing dates, sent through mail, VSC/director. Called couple of times to VSC, ofcourse...
here is the update !
requested FOIPA:11/01/04
initiated status enquiry:11/04/04
sent letter to USCIS stating their error with facts & evidences:11/15/04
name check wa initiated for self & spouce on 12/27/04
FBI cleared (both) on 12/29/04
I believe FOIPA has helped for quick responce...
name check cleared!!!
Just now I received a mail from FBI (Dave), stating my name check was cleared, I was one of the victim, which USCIS has screwed, by fluke or miracle, they initiated the name check on Dec 27/04, cleared on Dec 29/04.
