DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hey Sm1smom. Thank you for posting everything here. It was beneficial for me to process on my own without a lawyer. I received my green card in June, but according to the USCIS site, it still shows that the card was mailed to me. Is this normal, or should I contact USCIS and let them know about the delivery?

If you've already received the GC, there's nothing else for you to do regardless of what is shown online.

p.s. seeing as you've confirmed how much you benefitted from this forum, it would have been nice if you had also shared about your experience by posting about it and adding your case details to the Timeline spreadsheet, as against simply asking a couple of questions about your case. If others hadn't been posting, I'm guessing you wouldn't have been able to successfully complete your process without a lawyer.

Hi all,

My IO kindly scheduled both biometrics and interview for me today.
He told me to stop by his office to get the biometrics notice first. Then, I went to ASC to do my biometrics around 10 AM. I came back to his office for the interview around 11 AM.
He asked me to confirm my name and DOB, some yes/no questions from I-485. Then, he talked about my previous J-1 visa. As my country is no longer on the skill list and my J-1 doesn't fall under the exceptions, 2YHRR is no longer affect me (without the waiver).
He said my background check is already cleared (in less than 1 hour!). But since my number is current in September, he will keep checking until the visa is available and he will approve my case.

Everyone is very kind, I'm so grateful. I still can't believe it has happened.
Thanks everyone so much for your support! Especially Mom and Susie♡

Glad to know you included form G-1145 with your package. Simon shared a bit more about your case with me. Let’s give it till the end of this week to see if you receive the acceptance text/email notification message at a minimum which will confirm your package has been accepted.

With the receipt number, you’ll be able to create a USCIS online account. You will also reach out to USCIS to confirm if your bio appointment has been scheduled, if they confirm this has been scheduled, request for the date. Once you have this date, you’ll go back into your online account and reschedule the bio appointment to the next possible date you can find online. If getting an earlier bio appointment date will require traveling a bit further to another ASC location, you should be prepared to do that.

Your FO should be the closest FO to your listed residential address. Take a look at the link below to determine your FO using your zip code.
Just to update:

Yesterday evening I noticed my application fees had been taken from my bank account. I haven't received text/email notification yet. I contacted live agent at USCIS and they confirmed my NOA letter was sent yesterday 8/26 and gave me my receipt number.

I have created my USCIS account and added my case to my account. It now shows case officially received/accepted August 26th. The live agent said the case has not been on file long enough for appointment to be schedule yet for the Biometrics. I will contact them again later today and/or tomorrow to get the bio appointment information.

Great way to be on top of the process.

So I messaged the KCC to confirm that my file was sent to the FO and they replied with this:
Thank you for your inquiry.

Your case has been forwarded to USCIS. Any further inquiries regarding this case must be directed to them.
I assume that basically confirms that the FO has requested my file from the KCC and the KCC has sent it to them?

I (UK) also received my receipt number today however I can’t add it to my online account for some reason. Agent said it was too soon for my bio appointment to be scheduled, will check back tomorrow.

Hi Mom,
I submitted my household registration in my AOS package with both English and my native language included on the official copies. Do you think I’ll still need to prepare a certified translation to bring with me to the interview?
The official English version already shows both languages side by side (English appears next to each line of my native language, as in the images below). I realize this document isn’t specifically required on the AOS checklist, but I included it since I had it available and thought it might be helpful.

Thanks for any insights!

My recommendation would be to have a full English translation on hand in case the IO asks for it. You don't want to be issued with a RFE at this point in time for something that could have been presented at the time of the interview, if required.

And this is a perfect example of creating unnecessary complications all in the name of I thoughts it might be helpful. Providing unsolicited information has turned up to be more harmful than helpful.

Thanks for the great advice! I'll prep the translation right away.
Additionally, my official high school diploma also comes in English & native language side by side on a single paper; should I also prep a certified translation as well?

Thanks a lot for your help again!!

Yes. Any submitted document containing non-English language is required to be fully translated and accompanied with a signed certified statement.

Great way to be on top of the process.
Another update:

I was on live chat with the USCIS today, seeing if my biometrics appointment has been booked, which it hasn’t yet. I asked about expediting a request, to which he said he can get a tier 2 IO to call me to discuss further. He asked the reason and I explained Uk selectees error, law suit etc. He almost didn’t put it through as it wasn’t a USCIS error but a DOS error, I managed to persuade him it was all linked.

I wondered if you had any tips on how much to divulge when they call, how is the best way to explain the DOS error, the law suit and that the FO’s might not be aware of the error. Also is there anything I shouldn’t say!

I have the our email from August 8th showing DOS admitting error as he mentioned id need proof. I feel this is my chance to get this expedited or at least make the field office aware of the problem and the pending deadline!

There is no harm in telling them about the error, the announcement or the lawsuit. Say whatever you need to say (truthful) to make them do what you need.

Looks like there are a few of us over here in the US AOS'ing from the UK DV selectees. Glad it is not just me.
Three cases from the UK 43 are doing AOS as far as I know.

On the consular processing side, 16 cases have been scheduled, 15 in London, 1 in Abu Dhabi. The ABD case was a big shock to me since that one jumped ahead of many cases waiting for interviews in ABD - and strictly speaking should not have been passed by the UK case. The latest case to be scheduled only submitted his DS260 about 36 hours ago and already has been scheduled in London. I have to say, KCC have done an amazing job on fast-tracking these cases.

@Lodge2005 @ryukk @simple_variation1162

Curtis Morrision, my lawyer on the UK lawsuit has offered to pass on your case details to the government lawyer in order to bring some extra attention to your cases. This would be in addition to anything else you do and I don't think there is any harm in it - (Mom - please say if you disagree). There is no doubt that the CP UK cases have benefitted from the lawsuit oversight in getting extraordinary DS260 processing and scheduling. Maybe this will help the AOS cases too and it's a kind offer from Curtis.

So - if you want to have that done, dm me your real name, case number and FO.

This is a wonderful and very kind offer and we are eternally grateful for any help to achieving the goal. I will DM you the details, thank you.
