DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

1. Submitted my DS260 and recieved an interview mid/late September. Informed them I would be adjusting.
Orlando FO is my closest.
2. Not subject to home residency. My J1 status ends early September.
Procrastination at this point is not good. Pick between CP and AOS and stick with it.

You could switch back to CP - KCC and the London embassy are being extraordinarily accommodating to the lawsuit beneficiaries. If you want to switch to CP, you could do that.

Trying not to procrastinate but honestly unsure in what to do.
They dated our letters as of May 2024 (when I imagine we should have actually heard) but with such little time and I'm currently in the US but with my status ending shortly, I am looking for advice as this is a very strange situation.

You have to make this decision.

On the one hand you have a stressful few weeks with an uncertain outcome, and on the other hand you have a sure thing with some inconvenience for travelling.

Wittering on about the date on the letter is completely pointless. Your process will be over by September 30th. The lawsuit has given you an open goal, and the ball is sitting on the penalty spot. Now kick the ball and stop worrying about the color of your socks!

Hello,

I am trying to complete AOS in the US as I am unable to travel to the UK to complete the CP process. I am stuck at the "DV administrative fee" step (Step 5 and 6 of your spreadsheet - the $330 fee per person.) I don't understand how I would get the receipt back prior to submitting the AOS package? It seems that this is necessary for Evidence of Eligibility?

I have pretty much everything else ready to file, with the exception of that fee... Can you please confirm if I can send in my AOS package without that receipt?

Aside from this, I am doubtful that this AOS package will find its way through the system and approved before 30th September. If I submit the application with the cashier's checks for the AOS fees, will they still try to cash the checks even if the deadline has passed/the application is not reviewed/approved before 30th Sept?

Thanks

The fee is for processing of the AOS package/application ,not for getting a green card. It will be cashed soon after the package is received and accepted, regardless of what happens next.

1. The DV payment receipt gets mailed back - in order for this to happen, one is required to include a SASE which will be used in mailing back the receipt. You can email KCC and request for it by email, because of your unique situation - they may or may not email it to you. Because of the crunch time you’re facing, you may opt to mail your AOS package without including the DV payment receipt but before jumping on this option, I suggest you take a look at the FAQ tab of the AOS process spreadsheet first (this is critical!). If mailing without the payment receipt, you may wait at least until the payment has been processed, and include that processing confirmation with a copy of your payment itself and or the receipt issued for the payment with your AOS package.
2. Like Susie already rightly responded, the AOS fee is a processing fee and not an approval fee. The fee gets processed as soon as the application gets accepted, it is non refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.

Finally after 5 months, my case was approved. Thank you mom and all people who helped me for this process.

I appreciate for your advice and all dedication.
I will update the google sheet. I know how it is hard this process and waiting but I hope it goes well for all of you.

Good luck!
Congratulations and thanks for the update.

Hi, I am one of the 43 UK selectees. I filed my AOS (Aug 19th) with everything needed except the DV fee receipt which hasn't been sent to me yet. I included a copy of the money orders and a photo of the receipt for sending express delivery with USPS. I also sent you a more detailed message on your 'contact us' form as I wanted to go into more personal detail and discuss a congressional inquiry with you please. Many thanks, Mark.

Mark, it's Simon. The "contact us" link won't work to speak to Mom, and Mom is who you want to speak to. So - ask your question here. Don't be shy - everything has been discussed before.

Also, contact KCC for the DV receipt to be sent via email - mentioning you are a UK winner affected by the screwup.

Thanks for the update.

I think your case got assigned to an IO that is quite familiar with DV based cases, who probably also had a light workload, hence the call. I don't think the call from the IO is related to your expedite request, considering the Tier 2 person who is supposed to call back to obtain the details about the expedite request is yet to do so, and the call was not from the specific number you were told to expect the call from. Also, frontline agents cannot submit expedite requests without the applicable supporting documents, although they sometimes can add a simple note which gets forwarded to the FO.

p.s. do update the Timeline spreadsheet with your progress.
I completely agree. Yes, the agent did mention that she added a note about the expedite request for me and an agent will call me back within 10 days.

I will update the spreadsheet as my case progresses.

Thanks, Mom!

Hi Mom, Do we have a rough idea of when to expect the NOA after submitting application to a lockbox?

I also wondered whether I needed to wait for my NOA with the receipt number so I am able to contact someone further to ensure it is pushed through as quickly as possible. When I have the NOA is it worth trying to contact USCIS first or shall I go straight for sending a congressional inquiry to my Senator? (As I live in Florida I have found Rick Scott’s privacy act consent form to fill out with my inquiry)

Thanks

@Sm1smom, I had a few questions..My husband (main applicant) and I have submitted our Biometrics (husband's was on 08/12 and mine was on 08/14), but we haven't heard anything since then.

1. Our case will become current in September. Do you think we should start an inquiry with our Congress person already, or wait for September to begin?
2. Are interview letters sent out, and interviews only scheduled in the month the case gets current? That is, is it normal not to hear anything till September?

Thanks Simon.

1. There's no one size fits all to the question of when you'll receive the NOA following package acceptance - it could be anywhere between a couple of days to weeks. Did you include form G-1145 with your AOS package to enable you receive the text/email notification upon package acceptance?
2. Before I can say if initiating a congressional case inquiry assistance could be of help for your case or not, we need to know a bit more about your case as in your FO, your ASC, when you filed, etc. Please include your case data as is in the 2025 Timeline spreadsheet to enable us get a better visibility into your case.

In general the next thing you want to do is to get your bio appointment completed ASAP. You'll need your receipt number of course as a starting point for moving forward.

1&2. Good news for you - with your FO being Chicago IL, I think you might get your interview waived. This of course will not happen before September, and it will be dependent on if your background check has cleared or not. So I suggest waiting until the week of 9/8 as a minimum to see if you get an update or not before reaching out to your congress person for case follow-up assistance. Based on the reported cases on the Timeline spreadsheet (and other sources), looks like your FO was hard at work approving DV based cases most of this month of August.

Thank you for your reply.

I am one of the 43 UK selectees who only got notified on August 8th of the system error. I am in Florida on E2. I filed AOS with all documents needed except DV fee receipt to Chicago lockbox. It was delivered Aug 19th. I filed G-1145 form for text/email notification. I will fill out the timeline spreadsheet with my case data.

I will wait for receipt number and as soon as I have it I will book bio appointment. Is this something I can do on the USIC account I created? (After uploading the paper case file to my account also).

The field office - is that randomly selected or do they try and use the closest field office to where you live?

Glad to know you included form G-1145 with your package. Simon shared a bit more about your case with me. Let’s give it till the end of this week to see if you receive the acceptance text/email notification message at a minimum which will confirm your package has been accepted.

With the receipt number, you’ll be able to create a USCIS online account. You will also reach out to USCIS to confirm if your bio appointment has been scheduled, if they confirm this has been scheduled, request for the date. Once you have this date, you’ll go back into your online account and reschedule the bio appointment to the next possible date you can find online. If getting an earlier bio appointment date will require traveling a bit further to another ASC location, you should be prepared to do that.

Your FO should be the closest FO to your listed residential address. Take a look at the link below to determine your FO using your zip code.

Not sure where you came about the information re USCIS notifying applicants in similar DV cases who respond to RFEs within approximately 10 days that their response has been received. That is certainly not the norm AFAIK. There’s usually no confirmation of RFE response being received - there’s a couple of reported cases in this thread with a similar experience.

You have your proof of delivery, you just need to be a bit more patient for now. Your FO is aware your application is DV based, the IO assigned to the case will adjudicate it in due course.
@Sm1smom Quick update on my case. My account showed new card is being produced today with no interview !!! I’m very happy . Thank you very much for you help
